Colin Sylvia would have to be involved, Courtney's just too much of a good player to let go.

Its good to have a laugh on monday morning. Johns is a terrible footballer and is also to old for Melbournes plans.

It's taken 9 and a half months, but we now have the worst thread of the year.

Fair dinkum

some comments from the peanut gallery.

So the guy has been injured.

So was David Rodan.

You can recover from injury.

He is only 23 and has plenty of potential.

I suppose some of you nuffs think the same of Brad Miller. So maybe if Miller gets injured then that is his excuse for 8 pathetic seasons. Johns has a far better strikerate than Miller.

Seriously you couldn't do much worse.

Rodan showed glimpses of form, plus he won the TAC cup league B+F..so there was always something there with Rodan.

Johns has shown nothing, he is slow, no agility, not that strong a contested mark and has a poor kicking action, which results in poor goal kicking...

Does anyone want to delete this thread?

When I read it I thought it was some douche Essendon supporter trying to flog him off on us, I really hope it is, because if it's a Melbourne supporter they should gtfo.

Btw change your team from unlisted please.

Anyway on Johns, he has a fast 20m, but it doesn't translate into his game where he looks slow and has no agility, plus he is useless, added to that he won't play a game for at least the first half of next season due to his knee reco.

I was wondering what you'd propose we use to get him? Even if it was PSD I'm sure there would be a lot better talent available with our pick.

Johns has been told by Essendon that he's not going to be at the club next year. We're not trading anyone or anything for him. (We're not getting him either, but that's for the essendon fans who think we'll give up assets for him)

You idiot

Precise and to the point. I like it :D

Fishmonger, I agree that players can come back from injury, but Johns has had too many injuries which have reduced his speed and mobility. Really, he just has good size and a decent pair of hands now, and even they aren't overly good. He's AFL career is most likely to end, and if I'm being totally honest, he would be lucky to play regular VFL football now. That said, he was once a great prospect, he was just exponentially unlucky with injuries.

Guv'ner - the peanut gallery is spot on correct. When you are injury prone and 23, there is no potential, just Stro-tential (see Stromile Swift).

You < clue;

I dont know where to go with this
Has talent, hasnt shown anything in the AFL, mature rookie him.

exactly.

Some people seem to think I'm saying we should give up #1 draft pick for him or something.

But all I'm saying is that we could get a full-forward for a bargain in the event that he can make a comeback from injury.

It can't hurt to have a guy like this on a rookie list of some description. I've seen much worse gambles taken in the AFL. I mean what have we got out of guys like Jace Bode ?

Though he is 23, so I don't think he'd yet qualify as a mature rookie.

We really need a decent full forward.

Thoughts ?
