I think Praecido $41 is the value runner in the Derby, the forecast showers only enhance his chances, has been crying out for this trip.

Snowden said the firmer ground will suit Retrieve so if it rains a lot, i think i may rule Retrieve out.
bit of buzz around Digital Fortress which ran well on its last two starts on heavy ground. value runners may be the way to go if the rain comes down.

Any chance the races gets cancelled? or is that ridiculous given how big Derby day is on the calendar, and all the group 1 races!

They will only have 2 days between derby and cup day to try and get the track as good as possible, and with Sunday to have rain as well it might be stuffed!

you would think alot of horses will be scratched Saturday if they intend to race Tuesday or Thursday...a wet and heavy track in shit conditions wont be ideal..

The Lexus is an amazing race About 6 horses in this who deserve a run in the big one. Usually there is only 1-2 with any quality.

Some very even and classy fields all round.

Yep, the Lexus field is a beauty!

Linton drawn 5, gonna be tough to beat but so many chances.

Despite Purple's even form i'm still not ruling it out, drawn well, 2500 suits a bit more, ground should be soft enough. I know I should have sacked it but I find it tough to let go .

Dizlago drawn 15, makes it tough.

Mackinnon another good race - might see some different tactics from So You Think this week, more of a sit off them and have one shot at them kind of race to see how he is finishing off.

Lion Tamer drawn 18 - shocker. Rekindled Interest and Retrieve drawn quite well. 2 and 8 respectively.

All Silent down the straight, can't wait.

Might have a dip at Metal Bender - currently $16 and should have won the Turnbull but kept running up the backside of other horses. Happy to be on a horse that didn't run in the CP that has WFA form over 2000m.

I'd say the track may start at about Slow, and depending on whether it rains on the day, the track may improve or be downgraded.

I'm hoping for a wetter track then normal (Slow - Heavy) because I have 2 outsiders selected for the Derby who love the wet and could cause an upset over a grinding 2500m in the wet.
