Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

this would be a good trade for the blues, considering they still have fisher who would be good for 60 or 70 goals next season at full forward.

Pool Roos is too smart a man for this to ever be real.

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

fox sports online says the meeting is not postponed, they were not going to meet him on monday.

Shamed Carlton forward Brendan Fevola will not attend the 2009 John Nicholls Medal, the club's best and fairest awards, on Monday night.

Carlton officials also said in a statement released on Monday that, contrary to media reports, they were not meeting the star forward on Monday.

News had been circulating that Fevola had been asked to address his behaviour and prove to club president Stephen Kernahan why he should be retained on the Blues' list, a week after his alcohol-fuelled Brownlow Medal night carnage.

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

i have heard nearly identical to Ytoojae

my dads best mate played 250 games for carlton and speaking to him today
carlton are going to trade him, not just for his antics but to make a stand to our younger players that the sort of behaviour wont be tolerated

as you know the meeting has been post-phone and barristers are now involved because fevola is arguing the trading since he is still in contract however there are clauses which gives us the right to trade him

i know at the risk of sound like idiot
fevola is gone from the club and will be announced in the later days and we will be trading him to sydney, though i heard since sydney arent giving up their first round will be trying to pursue ryan okeefe

IMO, good riddance the club is greater then the man and seriously hes now a verteran and trade him while he still has some worth

MARK MY WORDS FEVOLA WILL BE GONE COME NEXT THURSDAY

Which is what will be required of Gumbleton now that you've lost your only two forwards :thumbsu:

Pity he can't play more than five minutes per season

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

Roos on SEN 1 hour ago stated that there is not such thing as a no dick head policy that Sydney suposedly has.
Is that opening the door slightly.
Maybe.
Do Carlton people think this is our last chance to move him on with any value.
Do they think if they put him on a last chance warning it wont work and he will force there hand some time next year by doing something stupid again.
How can they have confidence that he wont do something again.

Get something for him now and it will help your club.

Since you think that Brad Fisher is capable of 60 to 70 goals next season as a full forward would you give us Prismall or Stanton for him? :)

Brad Fisher was useless in the VFL Grand Final. How on Earth he could score 0-70 goals next season is beyond me.

Two points:

- The meeting was never postponed so you are wrong there.

- You signed up to this site this month.

There is a very good chance you are making absolutely everything up.

Pretty sure everyone knew there was no such thing as the no-********s policy. Barry Hall pretty much extinguished that theory out a few years ago.

he signed up today to be more precise.

Anyways, i'm a grown man, but I will cry if we trade Fev.

RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!??

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

He will be going no where! Jene Pratt loves him too much, she has a big say to what goes on, probably ban him from functions and send him to and Alcohol course again. All in all i think he himself has to put a stop to Alcohol all together. I know there will be clubs licking their lips for him, keep dreaming, and salivating cause that is all your gonna be doing his gonna stay a Carlton player through and through! Personally i would be dissapointed if he was traded.

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

I love this time of year, everyone knows someone who knows exactly what is going to happen. Like all the rumours about fev in the past my feeling is he will not be going anywhere and will finish his career at the Blues.

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

Just heard club legend (250 game CHF) Mark Maclure on radio saying he thinks Fev should be traded, thinks Fev has had too many chances (said 27 chances which is 26 too many). He said that if we want to emulate success and match Geelong we need to move him on, but there is a flaw in his argument there, Geelong, whilst they suspended a player with some history of alcohol related issues (S Johnnson) they did not trade him. From memory Stevie J's indiscretion was between seasons but after trade week and he came back from his club imposed suspension and seems to have knuckled down. Unfortunately I think its too late for Fev, one too many sorries and 3 weeks before trade week.

Interesting that club people are starting to comment on this. Makes it more likely than not in my opinion (and vindicates some of us (me) that have a particular leaning from the posters that bag us for not being true blue).

So who is your dad's best mate?

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

I'll be shattered if Fevola is traded. Say what you like about planning for the future and setting an example, how no individual is bigger than the team, yada yada yada...

People make football clubs what they are and I love the Fev. He's been one of the very few players to give us hope over the darkest period in our club's great history...sure he's stuffed up on multiple occasions but he's rarely put a foot wrong on the field in the last two years.

I cannot believe that what he did on Monday, while unacceptable, illicits such as a reaction. The media frenzy has been ridiculous but that's the price you pay when you're one of the game's most high profile players.

I'd be shattered to see him play for any other club. He looks set to become our greatest ever full forward (at least in terms of goals scored) and a champion of the football club. He's been our marquee player for 7 years and now has the opportunity to lead us to a premiership. Getting pissed and making a fool of himself ain't gonna lead us there but he's got 5 months to get over the hangover.

Please keep him. :(

So how do you know that he will be traded 'by next Thursday'? Even if you did have information that he will be traded there is no way in the world you'd know what day it was going to happen.

Even if your story about the 250 gamer was true do you honestly believe that anyone outside of the coaching staff and board would know if they are going to trade him?

It's all speculation - you are just hoping that this one sticks.

Maclure said that yesterday I think
He has never been a fan of Fev's indiscretions so not out of character

Re: Discussion: Fevola's Future - *LATEST* - Board Meeting Postponed

Rhys Shaw is a ********...

And a Shaw which makes him an even bigger ********...

It sounds like Roos is seriously considering Fevola.

Fevola should have gone to the Best and Fairest and apologised for his behaviour.

No one would be mad enough to serve him alcohol again.

It was a rather weak decision by Fevola if he squibbed the B & F because the Blues weren't happy with his behaviour.

Apples and oranges. SJ has only had the alcohol and speeding incident, with the alcohol being first. You don't trade a player after their first disgretion, and speeding isn't exactly something to ship a player off for. Also SJ was actually on the trade table in either '05 or '06, but this was before his drunken debacle in '07.
