Your alive kruze!
Fun police will now be on high alert
What are you still doing here TT!
I thought the silver lining in Werribee winning the prem would be that we were rid of you!
You and I might see our fair share of infractions with mods on board this year
I think the issue may be, and I'll qoute the VAFA's Amatuer Status document, "Employment cannot be dependent on
playing for the club "
Harper, I am totally unbiased but just because a player gets a job doesnt mean they have to play for them. That is how the ammos work. If Player A needs a job and club A can get them one then that is fine. Just because player A gets a job doesnt mean they are tied to that club.
In order to compete with other comps the ammos is all about networking.... otherwisE how does Loewe, Voss, Harvey, etc get to play for Old Haileybury.
How does carl Peteson get to play for Old Carey etc.
There is not one club in the ammos who doesn't use employment to entice a player and if they say they don't then they are telling fibs!!!
Thank god I didnt watch it was too busy at one of our many other GFs this weekendShouldn't you be watching trollope final Eddie?
This is why you guys are down here in the depths of the VAFA, how do you think the big boys at the top end of town survive? Old Xavs, OM's etc do this stuff for a living, until you do the same you will be sitting in the 'no-one cares' divisions, where your only real use is helping pay for Sholly and Goodman's wages....sad but oh so true. Thanks Pro, I know where you're coming from. As a former club Prez I know our club tried to use our supporter and former player network to help guys get jobs in the hope that if you sort them out for work then the need to play for cash is at least a little less of a necessity and you stand a better chance of seeing them run out in your colours.
The point of my post refers back to what what Kruzering posted
-"I heard a rumour the VAFA are going to investigate Banyule over getting Adam Masters an Apprenticeship on the condition he would play for the club."
If we dispense with the grain of salt and take Kruzering on face value then the player / club may have a case to answer.
if this is the case (and it probably / hopefully isn't), I'd like to see the IR mess if the player decides to head to another club and loses his job as his employment was conditional on playing for the original club....food for thought.

I would be disappointed if this is true.
I understand ammo football clubs are communities and obviously you'd help a mate out getting a job if you could, but when clubs such as Banyule are drawing players across with jobs and extra hidden incentives it crosses the line and makes the competition unfair.
A Masters was shopping himself around (with good reason he is a dead set gun) to many clubs that had all kinds of offers for him. Then he chose to play at Banyule for nothing ???? A club he is barely linked to (one mate plays there)....
R Masters came to a few of our training sessions but ended up at Banyule because they sorted him out with a teaching aide job while he finishes off uni as well (or so I heard).
If they wish to make payments to players I don't understand why they don't join the EFL or another league where paying players is allowed?
Max,
Any sign of one Abe Williams running around for the Bears?
Saw his clearance went through on Friday.
Came 3rd in the Woodrow Medal in 2004 whilst at OTs, then played 6 seasons straight at Heidelberg including 3 flags and was captain of one of the most dominant DVFL/NFL sides in living memory in 2009.
Must be a pretty tasty carrot being handed around the Bear Cave, I'd estimate Abe would've been pulling $1K a game at the Tigers.
Who are these Masters kids?
is it about the money in this case?AW is a Banyule junior who also coached teams in junior club.
It's not always about money.
I thought I would use my 500th post on something a little more interesting.Take it back to your board with your sub-standard undersized grounds, thugish onfield acts and poor drinking culture.
If this is the way ammo clubs work why not put it in the rules??
Seems rediculous that clubs that follow the rules are disadvantaged and lose their old boys to clubs that cheat the rules and poach players??
Well said Max, I still remember the great man Scotty Playfair destroying all comers back in the late 90's at the Bears, was a man mountain.
Fraser, I see Brett Fields has signed with your mob, one of Tsindos's recruits?
I thought I would use my 500th post on something a little more interesting.
My section has Marc, boss, snake pit, pine lodge, beau, Uni Bl and J King Not really undersized.
Yes OB and Oak aren't big.
No real drinking problems
Teams that follow the rules prosper, those teams that don't offer jobs suffer. Just ask the teams that chased Aaron Lord. The rules says that a player can not receive payment for playing. 500 out
KReuzering - FYI Max is from Old Ivanhoe, not Banyule.
wonder if he is also the social media attack dog for the new investigating officer?
i think the bullyboy threats to have posters table things on here from clubs is bordering on something more sinister.

Just don't want to see the integrity of the competition compromised.
If this is the way ammos work then why not make it offcial and have a rule stating that it is fine to lure players with jobs that have extra cash incentives???
