CY's had a pretty good hitout against Monash on the weekend. Seniors won by around 8 goals with several forward & senior players missing. Good sign for the club, scary signs for the rest of the competition, however, it is early days.
Seconds blooded a few junior and Club 18 players and went down by 6 goals which was an encouraging result.
What is the word on Parkdale? Winning by 20 goals + in their games so far?

Hey Ranga, looks like my sources were in fact spot on eh! (I just mispelt his surname)

PARKDALE VULTURES Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL) Rochford, Darren

Never question the 'Source of Knowledge" and his information.

Im pretty sure he was more referring to the amount of $$$ you said he left for! He's not on $700 a game!

NOBs had a pretty good hitout against Old Paradians at the Gillon on Saturday.

We won both games by a few goals. We had a few out but looked pretty good in patches and a bit rusty in patches. Reckon the margin was about 3-4 goals. Twos won by more. Usual good performance from our Reserves, OPs might struggle a bit this year with the step up.

Ye Old Paradians had a good hit out with NOBs.
NOBs won the game by 13 points in the seniors, not to sure to the strength of NOBs side, but i know Op's had a fair few missing, most notably their captain and full forward who won the d2 league goalkicking last year.
OP's take on Northern Saints of the edfl this weekend.
Just curious as to why you think they will struggle this year.
cheers:thumbsu:

Yes Willy will be very very good. Impressed Monash.

First of all, best of luck to the Old Paradians. D2 could be quite an even year this year.

Two main reasons why I think you could struggle a bit. I didn't see much system in your play, and secondly I thought the team was a bit light on bodywise. To make it in D1 and then move upwards, you need to start to get a few big bodied midfielders epecially in there, if not a couple of bigger KPP as well. From what i saw, there weren't too many of them. Who knows though, maybe all the big Paradians guys had the weekend off :D

I agree with Down at Gillon - If Old Paradians only had a couple of their best players out they are in for a long year, NOBs had about 8-10 walk up players to come back in... OPs certainly won't be playing finals in 2011.
I believe NOBs - providing all players remain fit and healthy should be aiming for finals, at least.

who knows, Ranga may clarify when the Red Card (a bit of Irony there) is over.

Anyway, the sources reckon game day + incentives but whatever it seems a huge amount for a D1 player (with all respect boys).

I mean if battling D1 guy can get this amount of $$ what could a player in a-b-c get?

Or the best paid:D

Seriously great news for OP. Would be an asset in any team in any comp in the land.

Well, after a few months of Michael Clarke bashing. Round One has arrived.

Predictions:

NOBS V Peninsula by 3 points - two finalists from last season should slog it out again. But i think NOB will be just good enough, only tipping because of the home ground advantage.

Friars V Mentone by 1 point - both teams won't feature this year. Loser could be amongst relegation talks already. Friars at home.

BT V OGGS by 19 points - tipping this in an upset. OG to lose, will be a good wake up call that they need to be just as competitive as the last 2 seasons.

Willy V Parkdale by 30 points - Willy to end all the Parkdale talk as the real premiership favourite wins comfortably.

OP V Banyule. by 55 points. - Banyule supposedly recruited well against this year's wooden spoon side.

The Early Matches:
NOBS
Friars
OG
Parkdale
Banyule

There's loyal, and there is stupid. $1200 a week extra is worth crossing over. So I doubt that is the case

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING.
Its a high flying flag............. (Stay tuned for the rest)

Premiers : Parkdale
Runners up : Banyule
League B&F : Mitch Grant Parkdale. Will tear the comp apart like a big cat

Geez, been a bit quiet on here over the past few days. Hope everyone is fired up for the opening round. Good to see some of the teams that I follow have again moved up a grade. So, my selections for Round One.

North Old Boys vs Peninsula old Boys
Bulleen Templestowe vs Old Geelong
Williamstown vs Parkdale Vultures
Old Paradians vs Banyule
Whitefriars vs Old Mentonians

All home sides. Mmmmm.
Anyhow, good luck to all teams and hope there aren't too many injuries.
See you around the grounds.

Any reports from Willy vs Parkdale? Strong statement against the most talked up pre season team in history! Robbins however will be a good player and see he slotted 4, will be a handful for opposition coaches!
