Round 17.

North Old Boys vs Bulleen Templestowe
Williamstown vs Whitefriars
Old Mentonians vs Parkdale
Peninsula vs Old Geelong
Banyule vs Old Paradians
 
Very frustrating and disappointing day out at Williamstown today, but still the destiny is in their own hands, simple case of an elimination final next week at Friar Park, willy probably hoping for a Peninsula win as less % needed to be made up there

Was a shame a great game was ruined by a return of our favourite umpire, hadnt seen him since rd2 and how much we missed his 20 25m penalties...

Highlight of the day- Definately the incident late in the game where he pulled up Whitefriars as they were streaming into goal in the clear and paid a free kick for an audible obscenity, went to report the player but realised it was actually the Willy play who swore, but never mind he still gave them the free kick!

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Eddie. I was in the crowd, not too far away from the incident but had no idea what was going on (as did most of the spectators).

If we can get the job done at Bulleen, Willy will be barracking hard for an Old Parade win over NOBs, which will be the most likely avenue into the 4.
 
Doubt anyone knew what was happening, when he didnt report the player I just thought he had forgotten his book (Well he forgot his gear last time we had him :p)

Hadnt checked NOBS opponent, that will be a good game and at Parade as well, going to be a big day and with OM playing OG it might be a must win game for OP as well

Great final round actually, every single game has something riding on it

I think your right, OM will beat OG who have lost all motivation to play. NOBS are in good form and it will be a good game at the Garvey. From all reports OP's had a good go at Banyule who were once again too good. My spies tell me Banyule looked a little shakky at times. You'd hate to go through the home and away season to drop the big one.
 
Three into two won't go for the spots in the first semi final, and am expecting some interesting results come late tomorrow afternoon.

Some big upsets in D1 this week.

Well done to Nobs a on good win over the friars, in particular the "silver fox". 8 years ago in my first years as an ammo's footballer I recall laughing at how old he was...8 years later, he is still tearing us apart!

Well done to the Friars seconds for battling though a hard fought match and getting the win over Parkdale, who were a worthy opposition. Also well done to their coaching Staff who dragged "37" after his second shameful act on the football field. He was clearly a bloke that can play the game, but put himself before the team. Thanks to video he will enjoy a 6 week (minimum) break in C Grade next year, and hopefully had the balls to apologize to his team mates for getting the umpires offside and effectively costing 21 of his mates another final.

We at Whitefriars love the umpires, was pretty high quailty from the men in white in both games.

The SFL would like us to think so, but everyone from Parkdale denies it. There are rumours around South Melbourne, Albert Park and South Mornington as well but i would be surprised if any jumped ship. On the other side of things Black Rock and Surrey Park to the ammos have popped up again. At least the second would give Chadstone a winnable game
