Bedford. Enjoy your posts but perhaps a bit balance would not hurt. A player returns to Rovers from earning a quid and he is tagged a mercenary. A player returns to Ormond from earning a quid and that’s ok as he is an Ormond Junior?
No worries we have had a couple of mercenaries leave Ormond and they can get stuffed as far as i'm concerned, i'm just sick of the money in suburban footy where one club will have someone rich come in for a couple of years and then piss off and then the club goes to shit.

Completely agree but once the VAFA changed the rules to make reinstatement so easy this was always going to happen. Works both ways I suppose. Those returning to Rovers are also HR juniors. Similar to if Digger returned to the Gunn. Don’t think anyone at Ormond would appreciate him being tagged a mercenary after what he has given to the club.

Robbins burnt a few bridges on the way out the door so all must be forgiven?

Corp pretty stiff not to rate a mention with the names returning. As is Ting. Corp in particular has had a distinguished career in terms of his impact when playing at Rovers and stints in the VFL. Ting has come on in leaps and bounds over the past few seasons capped off with a 1st Division SFL club B&F and 5th in the league in 2012.
les argen; kidding yourself if you think Fletch is a much better player than Pinto & Devereaux. All 3 are different players in their own right and will be huge assets to the club in 2013.
Bourbon is spot on for the B&F. The men in white love Fletch.

We intend to. Still looking for a coach. Pre-season numbers suggest we will be right to go. Will know more in the next 3-4 weeks with cricket winding up for most and the interest moving towards footy.

Didn't realise Corp had returned, Uncle. He'll add some firepower up forward and allow Power20 to finally hang up the boots.:)

Glad someone so close to the scene recognises the relative value of players.

Rovers are a lock for the flag IMO, with so many past established players returning they look the goods at this very early stage. All heresay at this stage, but very encouraging for them all the same.

OAFC will be mid/lower table this season. No new pick ups, a few "mercenaries" leaving, but plenty of Brighton Grammar junior pick ups. Will be the same as last year, shock some of the good teams, lose to the terrible teams. Hopefully can get D. Robbins to pull on the boots after his U19 coaching is completed as I believe most of their games at the Gunn are triple headers? Bedford can you confirm? Will win more if he does play, class act.

Most of the Brighton juniors are actually Ormond juniors returning. Waiting on the Ammo's about the triple headers and hopefuly Robbo will play and join his brother. Some real good kids coming through and i would expect a few of last years 17's will play senior footy this year. I think Rovers and Willy could be the teams to beat.

With the consensus here being that the rovers will be strng, I am wondering were any of the departues from a few years ago due to Russell Barnes and are any of the returnees due to his absence now?

Or was his timing just incredibly poor?

btw...what is he doing now?

Helping out with South Districts in Div2

Haven't posted a tweet for a long time, but my prediction of teams and best player are:

1. Hampton (best player - Fletcher)
2. Whitefriars (stiff last year - best player Hogan)
3. OGGS (Timms - very dangerous)
4. Williamstown (big improver this year IMO - best player Vanderloo kicks plenty of sausage rolls)
5. MHOSB (Tran)
6. Prahran (Sleight - goal kicking machine)
7. Bulleen (Florance - looks old but is young)
8. Ormond (martinov)
9. OM's (Norton)
10. Glen Eira (Mills but looks like he has left)

I'd push Ormond above Prahran. They will fight it out with MHSOB for 5th
