Aquinas have our first game for the season this weekend against UHS at Brens. We have struggled there in the past so it will be interesting to see if we can turn the tables on recent form. It will also be interesting to see if the extra game will benefit UHS or whether the bye will benefit us.

We have 5-6 starting players from last season out with injuries sustained in the pre season or practice games but they have all been replaced with new players who will be keen to show what they've got at their new club.

All up there will likely be 10-15 players making their debut for the club this weekend over both teams and a handful who are returning after a season overseas. Should be an exciting season for the club as there are plenty of new faces around the place and we have only lost 1 player from the team that faced Richmond Centrals in the preliminary final last year.

Either way we will know more after this week.

Hopefully we can get a bit more banter going on this forum over the season.

UHS-VU vs Aquinas Aquinas do not travel well. UHS are a bit of a front runner team.
La Trobe Uni v Powerhouse Mud Sharks are the Power House. Rainy day champions! I'll bet most of the Trobers don't know each other's names yet.
Glen Eira vs Albert Park Saints all the way. Gonna be a long season for the Falcons.
Hawthorn vs Emmaus St Leos Anyone tipping Hawthorn must a player's mum. Animals!
Eley Park vs West Brunswick Magpie madness. "New Recruit" Bill Irving will go OK!
Swinburne Uni - Bye. If I was a Swiny player I'd be going over to Rathmines Road to see your next opponent.
I remember an opposition clubman having a look at Swinburne and taking notes one year. Guess what? His club beat them the following week.;)
 
A great win by Aquinas on Saturday, we were on top for much of the first half before UHS kicked the last 3 goals of the half to go into the main break with the momentum. They then dominated the 3rd quarter and hit the scoreboard. After Jack Price hurt his shoulder 2 minutes into the last leaving us with 17 fit players it didn't look good. However we managed to find another gear and get the chocolates. Pretty stoked with the determination shown.

Looks like we travelled okay this week ;)
 
ROUND 3 DIV 3.

Aquinas DID travel well on Saturday. Very well.

Aquinas v West Brunswick. Magpies are up early and will go on with it.
UHS VU v Eley Park. Vultures won't let two games slip.
How come UHS VU get their first 4 games at home?
LaTrobe v Glen Eira. Surely the Saints can break through this week.
Hawthorn v Power House Should be a close game. Tempted to pick the Hawkas.
Swinburne v Emmaus St Leos. Can't tip against the animals at the moment.

Albert Park have a day off. Could be a good day to just stroll around the Ross Gregory oval.

I'm going with:
Aquinas v West Brunswick - Aquinas got over UHS last week, and they were looking good week one (really all i've got)
UHS VU v Eley Park - Really can't see the sharks being much of a contest for UHS
LaTrobe v Glen Eira - LaTrobe weren't fall off it last week.
Hawthorn v Power House - We're looking good for numbers and depth this week, hopeful we'll get up.
Swinburne v Emmaus - Going on their recent results I'd struggle to tip against.

Won't be much point for the Albert Park boys heading around to Ross Gregory, we won't be there to watch ;)

I must admit i can't stand eley park loved playing against them i was very happy to see them loose the flag stay in d3
 
Number 49 at EP was such a big bloke he got a game nearly every week. but I'm pretty sure he missed out on the ressies flag. all those years at the club and they dropped him. WHAT A MUPPET
 
Seems the D4 forum pest has made his way on here.

"danpenny" It's your 4th alias in about 6 weeks buddy, others were all closed down for posting rubbish and now taking one that suggests you are another VAFA player is going to far.

you were given the boot from st leos for criminal activity. stole from eley park and were asked to leave after many chances. came to chaddy under strict conditions that you broke and the players no longer wanted you. rejected by 2 others ammo clubs that you tried to join. now you reside at Cantebury - but for how long? your post before where you slagged cantebury is either an attempt at trying to cover your identity or theyve realised what you are like and have already sent you packing.
There are surely Cantebury people on here, do with it what you will.

3 or more clubs cant be wrong. you are the problem not them so dont come on here looking to bad mouth them. You should not be in the VAFA at all. dont be bitter, just suck it up and move on.
