Took the dogs to Rathmines to watch the Citz v Wicks.
Very impressed with the standard of the game. A great contest between two evenly matched sides. Both teams seem very organised and well coached.
Game seesawed back and forth all day with the Wicks holding a 11 point lead going into the last.
The Citz dominated the first 20mins of the last, missed really gettable set-shots but finally hit the lead with about 3 mins to go.
Then, some really bizarre umpiring decisions turned the game.
Wicks kicked 3 in two minutes at the end to run away deserved winners. IMO, better players for the Wicks were #6, #11, #47 and the Citz #97, #86, #2.

Thought the citz were unlucky. Wicks goal kicking made it closer than it needed to be for them.
Walking down the stairs post game and there was a lot of yelling in the hawthorn changerooms. Don’t know what happened there but I thought they played well, didn’t think it was a yelling type of effort from them

I didn't think so either TC69 and surprised to hear that.
Was told that while not happy with the result, they feel they gave a really good account of themselves and very positive moving forward.
