What? The Chadstone player? Doesn't matter how good you are, you can't win a league b and f when your team wins 1 game by 20 points and the other 17 games lose by 95,74,90,116,107,133,148,142,73,115,88,32,24,76,69,90 and 40.
The only games that a player in a losing side COULD poll from is games you lose by under 5 goals... There is only 1 of those and Chaddy's win.
Lets not kid ourselves if he polls well it is only because of sympathy, we had this talk last year about ciso. Good player yes, but not deserving of 2nd place when your team gets flogged every week, looking at last years forum he polled 3 votes when they lost by 180+ and one bloke kicked 12!
So you have losses as follws:
0-30pts: 1
31-60Pts: 3
61-90Pts: 6
91-148Pts: 7
Turn it up!

Haha comparing a D4 player to Ablett is laughable!! And when Melbourne lost last year to Geelong by 139 or whatever it was, did a Melbourne player get a vote? No they didn't! Don't you have some wild turkey to go drink?

I wasn't comparing players I was just stating that by your logic he can't win a brownlow? Good players stand out in average teams that's the way it is.

So here is a brief summation of G.Ablett Jnr.
In the games he polled votes....
2 were wins (PA 3 votes, Richmond 3votes)
3 were losses between 0-30 points
4 were losses between 31-60 points

In the games he didn't poll votes...
1 win where he didn't poll
2 losses between 0-30 points
1 loss between 31-60 points
6 losses between 61-90 points
2 losses 91 points plus

So 8 games he didn't poll in losses which were 10+ goals, given the fact that chaddy had 13 of these leads me to believe there is no way a player from Chadstone can win a league b and f. Look at your profile name and take heed of your own advice and get ya hand off it!

Eley Park have 3 morals for the team of the year.
on ball.. david bennett (the best player in the division and a near cert for comp b+f)
half back flank...matt corstorphin
foward line... david viola

others to be considered
al renshaw... ruck
michael viola ....utility
tim miller... defence
grant deakin... defence/forward tall
mitch saunders... rover (missed a few due to injury)

good luck to all players in the finals..a safe journey for all.

Looks like some close results on the Saturday followed by 2 blow outs on the Sunday!

Tips Prelim:
Eley Park by 5 goals over Swinburne
The 1 goal loss will be hard to swallow for the students and the thumping win the sharks had over PC should keep them going to the big dance.

Reserves:
Swinburne by 1 goal over EP

Pre-Liminary Finals

Seniors
Swinburne Uni vs Eley Park - A few showers predicted for Saturday should favour EP. The extra days rest will be an advantage for SU. Very tough game to pick. Swinburne by 2 goals
Reserves
Eley Park vs Swinburne Uni - Eley Park by 4 goals.

Swin vs EP in both games makes for an interesting day at Scammell thisweekend.

Swinburne go down by 1 goal to SM and EP hammer the hapless PC. PC have fallen away in the last month and their second half fade out signifies their season. Great effort to make the the 4. EP monstered their opponents with a convincing 51 scoring shots to 25. Interstingly SU have defeated EP twice this season in the seniors and honours shared in the twos.
SU have come off consecutive 1 kick games against the top side all season splitting the honours. EP did it easiliy. I would think SU's form line is slightly better against a better opponent and the extra day has to count for something. Vilola & Hyman the keys for their respective teams.
So in the seniors SU by 15 points & in the 2s EP blew a 4 goal break against SM, SU have defeated SM twice now and they may salute by 19points to make it a double for the students to advance.

Eley Park by 30-40 points.

David Bennett for the D4 award.

The D4 award is so subjective and I don't believe the "best" player like Irving or Bennett will win. Would be bemused if someone from the top 3 didn't win it in the end given those teams only lost a combined 7 games between them. Its not about the how good they are but how they perform weekly.

Irving would smash it if he played every game.

Hard to pick a winner though considering we see each opponent twice at most throughout the season. A few PC mids could poll well with their style of play.

You were right, Congratulations to Jordan, had a fantastic year.

Interesting that in Round 10 we won by 106, Albrecht kicked 8, Spencer 6, absolutely killed them and the Box Hill North player gets the 3 votes?? We did have a good spread getting 78 of the 108 available but the mind boggles a bit at decisions like these!
