Do people attend the GF on their own?

Sh*t yeah. Lots of people do it. Hit and miss I guess. Depends on who you are sitting next to but in my experience 9/10 footy fans are good. 1/10 dickheads.

Was sitting by the aisle last year. My bay was happy and gracious. Those over the aisle, pretty quiet an sullen. Not sure why

It's common in the mcc. You see a lot of people lining up alone. I go every week with a few friends a mix of members and visitors. My Mcc mates wouldn't go to the gf unless their teams playing. So I've been a a couple of times alone.

I am happy to be there and witness a game that so many people would pay serious money to even have a chance to attend, on the other hand it makes for a fairly dull day if it's a shit game and as a neutral supporter the game really needs to live up to expectation to make it worth while going alone.

Leaving it to the last minute deciding this year, especially when getting a decent seat means line up at 5-6 am

I've gone to the last three solo. Had mates there but the logistics of getting tickets for members/non members etc have made it very hard to organise - we've caught up for a drink at the break and before/after but during the game we would be watching it rather than interacting too much anyway.

Yeah I'm in the same boat for this year's Grand Final.

Went to the Tigers-North elim final this year by myself, bought my ticket on the day. Had a great time. Ended up sitting and chatting with a bunch of North fans anyway

I enjoy watching footy alone or with a crowd and I'd absolutely go alone. Got no family there are as interested neutrals and fans of the game in general as I am. They support their own teams and maybe have a second team but thats it.

Intend to go alone every year once I get into a good full time job until I'm physically incapable to go anymore

I'm heading down with someone else, but I cant help but notice lots of people selling 1 ticket and I wouldn't imagine it would nearly be as fun or memorable on your own on the ultimate day.

Do people actually go on their own?

Have you ever gone on your own and what is it like?
None of us are ever alone, stereophonic. Bell's Theorem confirms it. Be brave, my son.

Never. But I've been to the Boxing Day cricket on my own.

I can't remember footy games all that well. A few highlights. Because I'm with people and there is a lot of interaction and chat. But that day at the cricket was intense as far as the game went. No distractions, so I was totally into it.

I've never had to go to the footy on my own, with many of my family and good mates being Dogs supporters, but I wouldn't have an issue with going on my own if it came to that.

Especially for the Grand Final. Tickets aren't easy to come by, it'd be every man for himself.

Forever baffled by people who won't go to things on their own.

I agree, sure its great to catch up with mates afterwards for a bbq I think its good to do some things solo, its also a good way of meeting new people for when you are out with mates, you tend to focus on what they are doing.
