I would be amazed if anything happened before reaching the point of "mathematically possible to make finals".
If/when we reach that point I hope Bevo will walk.
Unless we see the most amazing/rapid senior coaching reinvention I can't possibly see him with us in 2025.

Unless something goes catastrophically wrong, nothing will or should happen until late or after the season. Most likely the best scenario would have been for Beveridge to resign last year, which would have been an organic ending where neither party loses. If it does end badly this year then all the key leaders at the club need to go, given this was their plan and you can then have a complete refresh for next year.

It depends on who the club might have on a shortlist to be the next coach.
Leaving it too late in the season might mean some other club moves first and gets in before we throw our hat into the ring.

Calls for Bevo to resign are fanciful. That isn't going to happen.

No, but I suspect there will be some sort of 'handshake agreement' and he respectfully walks away post season. I'm assuming we miss finals.

I’m fine with him staying at this point. No one is going to turn this shit show around and we need to at least play some of the kids on our list which he is doing. I’ve reached a point of zen. It’s finally obvious the emperor has no clothes and change will have to happen. I hope we spend the whole year looking for the best match day coach available. Our players deserve it.

I agree this is the most likely scenario. However, I wouldn't be surprised that, if we're sitting near the bottom of the ladder in the latter part of the season, the handshake could be sooner.

Perhaps we simply can’t afford to sack him. We’re not Essendope.

Its why the Eagles still have Simpson. Cant afford to move him on due to the payout would blow the football dept soft cap and getting smashed 150% tax by the AFL.

Not sure thats why the AFL brought in the soft cap for football operations expenditure. Another poorly thought through equalisation measure by AFL House. Wealthy clubs cant address mistakes made.

Reckon we need someone to that can change our forward line into a scoring machine. It will be our biggest point of difference in the next few years with Marra, Naughton, Darcy and Weightman. That's a damn good core.

Don Pyke had Adelaide humming before he blew it with the camp. He's not interested in coaching anymore though- but someone who gets similar output.

Id like no one with a bulldog connection. We have that with Bevo and he's best mates with a few influential people at the club.

Also Bevo is not a bad coach or person, I just feel we're stale and need a change.

I’m done. 20 years of paid up ej whiten social club gold reserved seating I’ve paid my $$$ to support this club and I still will. Unfortunately my seat will be vacant until there is change
why give your hard earned to a club that doesn't listen to its members?
I refuse to go to games this season and didn't buy a membership due to them not getting rid of Bevo last season. I'm over it, they don't deserve our money with how hard living is at the moment.

I hear your frustration and would have got rid of Bevo last year. However, I have been member for 63 consecutive years and will still go to all the games I can and continue being a member. Not joining because times are tough is fair enough but not joining as a form protest does nothing but reduce our membership.

Fair call mate congrats on your long running membership status. That’s massive!

The good thing about out fixture (well, maybe the bad thing depending on your viewpoint) is that we don't have a powder puff schedule in the second half of the year like we have had in some recent years where we've gone on a bit of a run and made finals. I can't see how we go any better than 5-9 or maybe even 4-10 in the last 14 games unless there is a fairly significant turnaround in quality of performance.

The easy part of our fixture is the first nine rounds, so to be 2-3 and looking down the barrel of the saints and freo (away) given the second half of the season looks challenging isn't great.

But if you're of the opinion that Bevo needs to go (as I am), and missing finals comfortably will make that happen, then there might be a silver lining there. Nobody wants to see us lose, but if there isn't going to be substantive change in team selection, coaching/game style, effort and all-round performance then we'll lose more games than we win and he has to go.
