Re: Fevola to Collingwood

If we offer him small money, place every last possible clause in his contract that if he even sneezes out of turn he is gone, no questions asked. I'm not saying that I want him but if we did get him, do you really believe one person can turn us on our heads? We have come a long way in recent years.

Re: Fevola to Collingwood

Maybe the guy deserves a chance like Krakouer got, we could set up a situation where he gets paid f-all and is on a behaviour contract.

Pick #25 > GWS

Fev & Clarke > Pies

Big gamble but might be worth a shot.

Um, why are we trading with GWS for Fev?

He won't be pre listed by them.

He will be a draftable player, just like any other player that has been delisted within the last 2-3 years by any club.

If we want Fev, we simply get him with our last pick in the national draft, no one else will touch him anyway.

Of course, this is all hypothetical, he will never play for us, ever.

Re: Fevola to Collingwood

I think he and Bucks are pretty good mates (kinda) so this MAY have the smallest little legs.

As someone else said, if we gave him a one year contract on minimum wage, with a clause that says we can ditch him if he farts, then in all honesty, I'd take him.

He's still in great physical shape, and if we can get 40-50 out of him, another 60-70 out of cloke and 30-40 out of Dawes?

Yikes.

Re: Fevola to Collingwood

If we do take him.. put him on the rookie list for half the year but make him do full training n stuff. If he ****s up ONCE his cut... if he does very well (on and off field) promote him to senior list for 2nd half of the year

Didn't realise he couldn't be pre-listed my mistake. :thumbsu:

I would like to say 'No' but if he did end up with us i would support him as it would been a collingwood decision. Does that make me a fence sitter?
Nope makes you a true barraker dub, a lot of people could learn a thing or two from you m8. We don't need to blindly follow the club line without thought but public criticism needs to be tempered because we aren't on the inside to know the policy behind the decisions.

Totally agree, when Leigh Brown came to the club many people said it was a joke and he was finished. I support The Anvil and he become a club cult hero very quickly, and an important part of the 2010 premiership.

Exactly. If Collingwood draft him, then I trust those in the recruiting department, that they know what they're doing.

I like how you want half the Pies side delisted but you want us to pick up spuds like Fevola and Hille.

I think if any club could transform Fev for the last cpl years of his AFL career it would be the Pies. Your club is strong enough to handle the pressure if he stuffs up, and you are also in the prime of your premiership window that with a fit and firing Fev, it might just give you that X factor to bring you the cup home the next cpl years?

The flip side is the intense media coverage Collingwood has plus the club doesn't want any distractions when they're playing for the premiership cup.

This thread is a few years old....Fevola did get his last chance at Brisbane after numerous last chances at Carlscum. Any club that gives him a last last chance at 30 years old(?) is risking alienating supporters and sponsors etc.

Dawes - Witts - Keefe they deserve chances at an AFL career not someone who has serious mental illness who still refuses to acknowledge it ("I still drink but I am not an alcoholic...i don't gamble, I just play poker and go to the Casino"). If he was serious about an AFL career he would sacrifice any potential demons all together - he hasn't!

For all those who want Fevola just think about this. What player do Carlscum need to improve - a KPF! Yet they won't take Fevola. So why would we?
