Does Buddy get Suspended for his hit on Rance?

No, thats why I said "I wouldnt know"....

The problem the MRO now has is Vlaustin probably isn't medium contact, but he can't get the exact same penalty for something thats 10x worse than Buddy... in short they both can't get a week.

His hand clearly goes to Rance's right shoulder (left of screen), not saying he didnt get his neck area in any capacity but it wasn't just a straight hit to the throat.
I agree. Vlastuin will get whatever Franklin gets + 2 weeks.

Jack Redpath copped a week which turned into 2 which turned into 3 last year for much less on Phil "falldown" Davis. Tommy Hawkins would get a week 100%. Cant see why Buddy won't apart from the fact that the AFL will no doubt turn a blind eye...

The only time Franklin's been suspended against Richmond was when he wore a Hawthorn jumper. Since going to Sydney he's taken over from Goodes as the AFL's protected species, no matter how many head shots he dishes out.

Oh well, it's Geelong's problem this time.

I thought both he and Tippett got themselves suspended in the same game against Richmond two or three years ago. It was an SCG game where Sydney looked in control at half time but then went into meltdown in the second half as Richmond ran over the top. It may be the only time Franklin has been suspended since moving to Sydney.

I stand corrected, he got a week for running past the ball and administering "careless" contact to Shane Edwards' head. He seems to get extra-antsy against Richmond for some reason.

Looked at it several times. I question why the umpire standing right there didn't penalise Rance for a completely unneccesary arm across the throat.

The open hand hit from Franklin appears to hit the collarbone first before deflecting onto the throat.

Rance did his best Hollywood on all fours choking like a dog. Recently, the more I see of Rance the less I like him, has turned into a staging tool, thinks the game is all about him.

Abusing Phil Davus because Repath struck him in the throat hard enough so he coukdn't breathe is disgraceful. There was clear video of the incident and Repath never denied striking him. He was given 2-3 weeks. It ended up three because he appealed. He was very lucky it wasn't graded intentional initially.

To then appeal and not deny he did it, but claim he didn't mean to, was really dumb and couldn't work.

I think the thing in Buddy's defence is Rance brought him down off play momentarily after the whistle blew. The contact is probably ok but after the whistle he should not have been lying on him and holding him down.
Buddy still cant strike him in the throat but d8esn't have to be passive as I see it.
If he can make a case that he was trying to push him off then he might get careless or rough conduct and fine. I think a week is more likely.
In that sense it's a bit like Dykan Buckley against the Cats where he threw his head back with a player lying on top of him after the whistle. Many thought it was a deliberate headbut, but rough conduct and a $2k fine was a fair outcome in my view.
