Bailey smith’s emergence does a couple of things for us:

1. Balances our midfield much better. Dunkley, Bonti and Macrae (throw hunter, libba, Lipinski and McLean in as well) are obviously amazing, but you won’t find a slower midfield. Smith gives it some zing.

2. Allows Bont to spend more time forward. I absolutely hated him playing up there when our midfield wasn’t up to it. But with smith becoming the player he is, I really hope Bonti spends more time forward and becomes a 35 goal a year player

Did anyone else notice that there weren't even enough actual GWS fans to fill the nine segments of the "fan wall" that came up on the TV sometimes. They had to put a still photo of a GWS player into the bottom right box to make up the numbers.
I swear I saw Bokomon’s face in 4 different locations

Their foaming at the mouth over the incident itself is laughable.

Bontempelli didn’t do anything wrong, it was unlucky for Haynes but those things happen in football.

Somehow they think that not only balances the ledger for all the dirty, unsportsman like acts they've committed against us, but also gives them the moral high ground. Typical reaction from the entitled Amex Black card carriers.

And he grabbed two plastic players one in each hand a and ragdolled them both!!

I don't think I will ever get tired of watching that clip. It will be on high rotation this weekend. The only shame is the lack of spectators. Imagine a stadium full of rabid Bulldog supporters absolutely giving it to the Giants. I was going apes**t at home - I would have liked to be doing the same with 50,000 Doggy comrades at Marvel.

Not sure Suckers has 3 games in 12 days in his legs, same with Lloyd. Think both will be looked at but experience might keep them in the team? Also big Brucey played one of the best 6 possession games I’ve seen in a long time, don’t underestimate the impact his physicality had on the game and team..
While they are double teaming Bruce it opens up space up forward

Well it was good to get some intensity back, Bevo finally made some changes and we got a win. It was a big improvement although if you knew Greene, Kelly and then Whitfield would be gone you expect a win. I think we still have a fair way to go and hope Dale and Lloyd are dropped. Called for their head last week must happen this week. Imagine if that worst than little league kick for goal by Dale had cost us the game.

PS I think Hawthorn is not our biggest worry of keeping Bailey Smith. With those looks and that rig I think Hollywood is a bigger problem.

Well Ameet and co told Channel 7 we'd be fun to watch, so give us some Broadway time slots. Didn't look good for a few weeks there, but that was sooo much fun. Everyone I know was loving the unarmed combat.

Hope the ratings blew up, especially around 3/4 qtr time. Should guarantee our clashes against them get top billing in the future.

Why can’t Bruce get a kick?

I’m super keen to see naughton down back. I think he could be dominant down there.

Would love to see Naughts and Cordy switch roles for a half.

Think Bevo is deadset on Naughts being a forward but I was impressed by what Cordy offered in his short stint as a forward last year when Moz came in. He throws his weight around well and with blokes like Weightman at his feet he could play a good role. Would never be the high goal tally player Naughts has the potential to be but I don't really rate him as a defender either. Plus imagine a defensive pairing of Keath and Naughton.

Beveridge pissed away the first 2 rounds picking guys like Gardner and gowers on the back of practice form.

I’ll just leave this here.

Libba, McLean and Cordy are better than those guys? Wow.

I can understand the first game of the year where there is an odd weird selection ( Gardner ) and Collingwood are a good side so losing that one where they played very well is understandable.

However picking Gardner last week over a premiership player in Cordy was just wrong and cant be defended. I agree with Adam Cooney the coach doesn’t seem to give our premiership players any tickets in the bank and sometimes selects battlers over proven skill.

Even last week playing Macrae out of the Centre square was very puzzling.

so hopefully back on track, just need to kick goals from set shots, should have won by 8 goals last night, and certainly missing those 4 set shots in the first quarter against St Kilda cost us any momentu.

Rarely I comment on opposition but cannot resist this opportunity against the orange plastics

They built it up as a grudge match everywhere. GWS lost the game before the ball was bounced by targeting Bont. That made sure we played with intensity. Haynes tossing the coin was an equally telling moment. No spark so far this year from us yet GWS did a brilliant job in giving us thst missing spark. Dumb tactics by GWS probably masterminded by the dumbness of Coach and Heath Shaw types.

2016 Never forget GWS

Baz getting some love from the States.

If we have any marketing savvy at all we would get some Merch out to these guys ASAP N get the golden mullet onto their show.
McAfee and his boys are blowing up right now n they are genuine sports fans. Would be a brilliant affiliation at the right time as AFL gets airtime in the states.
Great to be back as Winners in a manner befitting the jumper.

There was an article I read not long ago about the most marketable players in the AFL. I think Baz will be well up there very soon. He's a good-looking well-spoken kid, has a trademark in the mullet, and is a bloody good player.

I made a cheap crack during the game about Haynes but honestly he's close to the player I admire most outside the Dogs. It seems so incongruous that he plays for the Giants.

He's a very fair player with incredibly good judgement of the ball in the air. Very composed and a decent kick. I'd love him at the Dogs even though we have 2-3 specialist intercept defenders already. He'd walk into any side in the AFL.

Haynes is a gun.

Would love him in our backline.

Haynes and GWS is footy's version of an oxymoron.

He looked pretty uncomfortable at the coin toss, IMO.
