im guessing they lose 4 with Bowes anyway.
so its 1 & 8 with Bowes or Bowes and 8.

I just don't see one of the top 3 clubs bidding on Bowes. In a vacuum, GC would still better off trading 4 and 8 for 1, because they know they are going to lose one of their two top 10 picks matching a bid for Bowes. But...

Still have to wait and see what other potential top 10 picks GC get back in trades. If GC went to the draft with say, picks 4, 5, and 8 that is basically forcing a top 3 club to bid on Bowes before GC's first pick because a rival club can't let GC walk out of this draft with 3 potential top 6 players

I tend to agree unless Brisbane think they may as well have a crack at arguably the best kid in the draft, esp given his a QLDer.

If I'm GWS, i take the punt and take 4 & 8 to the draft (and maybe 6 from the Tigers) and see what happens
Every chance they keep all 3 picks intact.

I'll admit I can't say much for his local Colts games since it's impossible for me to watch them but his numbers stack up pretty well and just like how he has played in the games I've seen. I've watched over every champ game available to me more than twice and plan to watch over the same games again closer to the draft.

Er, it's arguable that Bowes isn't even a top 5 player, let alone arguably the top rated kid.

At this point in the season, Bowes isn't rated in the top of 5 of many draft analysts. McCluggage is certainly viewed as arguably the best kid in the draft.

Not sure why Brennan Cox is so lowly rated....The lad has all the size, speed, agility & Athleticism of Rance/Tarrant.

Might want to swap Drew & Clarke around also....1 is so much more effective than the other, & it aint Drew.
ive mentioned before how this draft is very even and hard to split. The difference in Drew and Clarke isn't that great for me it bombers had either available at pick 19 I wouldn't be fussed either way who was taken that's just how even it is.

Cox is hard to place for me. In the champs I thought he was good but didn't stick out to me as much as other defenders. He could easily make the top 30 come draft time and I could see why.

Cox's balance for a boy of his size is remarkable.

Clarke doesn't look pretty, I'll admit, but his ability to get from contest to contest & effect it is elite....The stand-out inside contested-ball mid at the champs for mine....Though Graham was very good also.

Ill be intrigued to see his combine results they could push him up the order further for sure.

Watching Clarke live in the finals really gave me a good insight into his strengths, his ability to get to every contest is just smart running he doesn't run to stupid spots and his hands are super clean at a stoppage. Ill be watching more champs footage of Graham he is very hard to place but his contested ball winning is just super.

In both games I saw of Clarke live this year his kicking was very, very ordinary...will need to tidy that up big time, the last game at Eureka Stadium I'd be very surprised if he even went at 50%.

Hopefully cox goes late and the eagles pick him up. we kinda need a project KPD anyway. we have a knack of picking KPD's late and developing them. The last two have been great.

You guys have a good defense being made for the future what's needed now is some more quality midfield depth and with your delistings I think the club is already trying to sort that out.
we also need a few crumbing smalls. I get the feeling that we will be after bolton and/or liam ryan. Both times we played dogs this year, we well beaten when the ball hit the deck.

Dont know if it's a reach yet but Jy Simpkin would have to be considered early for you guys. Has speed, skill, crumbs packs at full pace and puts on manic pressure without the footy. Venables and Powell-Pepper are also quick and good at ground level but should be interesting to see which players slide personally I think McGrath or Ainsworth would be a perfect fit but they are looking like top 5 certainties now.

i don't now too much about simpkins yet. need to do more research. I like the look off SPP and venables. Both could transition into mids or a tleast roam through there time to time. First time i saw venables playing, he reminded me of luke shuey so i naturally go excited.

Isn't ainsworth more of a leading small. I guess we won't overlook him if he does somehow slip.

If you can find any academy games online to watch then that could be a good place to start for Simpkin. Ainsworth is also fantastic at ground level it's just his ability overhead is his point of difference so that's what gets mentioned the most.

I tried my best to sort out the bidding and what happens to those picks but I'm probly way off on that, after trade week I'll be updating my Phantom and getting the help of someone who knows how to allocate picks once a bid happens

Not that hard.

Each pick has a points value. If a bid comes in, then the academy club has to find enough points to match the bid with the following picks. Have to remember that academy clubs get a 20% discount on the points value on the pick where the bid comes in. Any left over points generate a new pick at the appropriate place in the draft order.

That's what I have trouble figuring out, I understand the process just don't know how to articulate it haha

You reckon GWS would pick Marshall at 16 if he is there. They are pretty keen to get him and at 16 they would for sure
