Back from the hospital. Was only in the waiting room at the ER for 3 hrs, given my issue wasn't urgent suppose thats not too bad.
The doctors said it didn't appear my lump was anything serious, that it should clear up on irs own. That it looked like a blocked pore. Kinda like a blind pimple in a way.

Wonderful news Jen2310 - stay well.

my personal favourite is Coopers Ultra Light
Mine too.
I like Coopers beer and it just tastes like a Coopers beer.
There's a bit of stigma around ultra light beers, I reckon it's un-deserved.
It’s an old school association with not drinking, (un Australian).
In a stubbie holder others can’t tell it’s not alcoholic.
To be able to drink a beer to socialise and look after yourself at the same time is fantastic.

Lol.... you may now sympathise with Thomas and keefe, RE their party substance being tainted with performance enhancing drugs..... not by choice.

Poetry in life occasionally.
Considering mine was administered by a licensed Anaesthetist I struggle to see the similarities.
While my truth is that I had no choice in what they gave me before operating, you seem to be wholly convinced by their lie that they ingested “not by choice”. Despite buying the drug!
Oh I laugh at such ignorance.

Hoping you had a good time mate.
🤣
Nowadays I don't mind a joint occasionally and that's about it.
I think coke or any powder would give me anxiety. Did it several times when I was younger.

OK more than several times.
I was asleep.
I did have a laugh when the assistant said she was going out to get the cocaine.
I asked her if she was heading to a street corner. The anaesthetist simply stated that theirs was the most pure you could get.
Wowser!

If ever you seriously thought of installing Dutton as leader of our country, this should finally convince you he isn’t worthy.
Like Abbott before him, and the High Court, these people are putting their religious beliefs above the people of the country.
Pell may or may not have been a kiddie fiddler, but he certainly made sure that those in the church who were had all the protection the church and its money could offer.
His relationship with the convicted, and admitted pedo Risdale, condemns him forever.
His work in helping the church refute and hide from their responsibility condemns him forever.
A grub removed from the earth, finally.

Be careful, I could see you in time raking up lines in some dodgy cubical. The care I highlight, hope it’s pure and not cut with any other banned substance.

Ignorance, eye of the beholder obviously.

well said. “Pell never lost faith in his God, his country, and in justice" Justice for the boys doesn't appear to matter to Dutton or the two ex-PMs.

Do you have a similar level of ire towards the National Redress Scheme? It is pretty much an inflation-adjusted copy of the Melbourne Response.

But that doesn’t get reported by the ABC so the real thinkers don’t get to think about it.

Once again, it hasn’t been reported that the National Redress scheme is basically an inflation-adjusted carbon copy of the Melbourne Response. The system that was bagged by all and sundry.

I dont know much about it. I did a 10 minute look at the scheme as a matter of interest and noticed the ABC report. I thought I would post it.

I must admit that I dont see the connection between a scheme put up by the gov't to "redress" the issues, and the behaviour of Pell while he was in charge. As I'm sure all christians would say, there is good in every man and I'm sure Pell did some good things in his life, but I dont think the comments by Dutton were balanced in any way. To focus on the supposed injustice Pell received ....well I just think it is a slap in the face for the lack of justice those boys got. I had one of the perpetrators as my "form master" and fortunately he never got my hands on me, but i'm sure others in my class did. The catholic church during that period showed its true colours. It really should be abolished worldwide. Pell's role in protecting his priests is unforgiveable especially with his attitude since.

And I think we should let this issue die with the man. I dont think anyone wants to see this discussed again in this forum

That the High Court came out with a judgment that effectively determined that the alleged crime was an impossibility to have occurred. That it put an elderly man behind bars for a year, then injustice is an appropriate term.

The reason I brought up the Melbourne Response is that it was introduced under Pell’s leadership. It was a world first at the time. The Redress Scheme is essentially a copy of it (but with less mental health support), 20 years later. And Pell is somehow portrayed as he has been.

Just adding balance when posters cast terrible aspersions (not you) on a dead man.

There was a lot wrong with the Melbourne Response scheme and the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse heavily criticised it. Not sure it should be lauded.

Ironically if people want to focus on the "injustice" towards Pell rather than the injustice of the Church fobbing off complaints by parents/children, then I can only add that at least Pell had an opportunity to avoid his injustice if he did things correctly from the start - whether it is administering complaints or fiddling with kids. The kids didnt have that choice. No one has tried to jail catholic clergy who have not interferred with kids and who have responded correctly to their complaints. No clergy have suddenly experienced injustice by simply being in a classroom. I find it peculiar that Dutton etc focus on the "innocence" of Pell, and not bother to mention the innocence of the children.

Also, I dont know how the men feel but I'm puzzled by both "redress" schemes. I know it's only a word, but I just cant get past it.

Finally, in another dose of irony, Pell has made a significant contribution to the downturn in church attendances. I think that is one of his lasting legacies amd if I had to be malicious about it, I'd like to thank him personally.

Have your response and we'll leave it at that...

Typical Age reporting of the time. Publishes hearing testimony as purported fact.

Nothing is perfect but the MR has copped ridiculous criticism given it has been essentially replicated by the Federal Government.

If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, then…
