2 years in a row, we don't have access to the highest ranked player in the country despite having the number 1 pick. Great Competition.

Nah, we could have chosen Daicos or Darcy to be the highest ranked kid in the country last year but we didn’t because we rated JHF higher than both of them.

He also got to get the NAB money too for bring pick 1. Why give it to a player we were never going to get.

Only one player needs to be traded in. If Freo won't take the third round pick for Logue, play hard ball and PSD him.
Use the 3rd round pick for a GC salary dump.
Who needs points next year? Do a trade with them for second rounder this year for the future 2nd.

Still waiting for the AFL to give us a game at shithead stadium at 2 in the morning against GC. Will be a nightclub atmosphere.
Groundbreaking, we’d run with it, opens up overseas markets, able to attract elite talent, such as Dusty and Degoey.
Watch it become a ratings winner only to be taken over by Richmond and Collingwood, when it’s the best time slot.

Doesn't the future picks have to be for a player and not another pick?

This "package" is a joke. They have given us a pile of shit and then added conditions to what we can do with said pile of shit. I'd honestly prefer we just reject it and get the trades done with our own future picks. Bit petty but if we are going to get that little help with how poor we have been we may as well just do it ourselves. They should have just given us nothing and said PP's were over, because whatever these are, they ain't PP's.

Gold Coast were given
  • 2019 Pick 1
  • 2020 Pick 11
  • 2021 Pick 19
  • Increased list space
  • Access to Darwin pre-elections

In other words, a kings ransom

Another way:

GC got two first rounders and two second rounders over three years, plus expanded rookie list, for 13 wins over three seasons
Brisbane got a second rounder for 14 wins over three seasons
Carlton got access to state league players for 18 wins in three seasons

North get two picks we have to trade that aren't first rounders, nor are they in the current year's draft, for 9 wins in three seasons

No need for diplomacy now the ruling has been handed out.

I think we/Sonja are within our rights to voice disappointment over this. They have issued the worst ever assistance return or interpretation of a priority pick.

We have to call out the hypocrisy. The reason North keep getting ****ed over is because we meekly accept it. No fear from the AFL about us making a big deal about anything.

Alright I've melted, and now I've reassessed.

We are unlucky. AFL were gearing towards removing PPs, and they felt they HAD to help GC because the alternative is they lose $$ and fold. Estaished clubs don't need that, and the GC picks royally screwed up the draft. It was good for no one.

The last time a team got that much help was well over decade ago. Second rounders are the go for PP assistance now as evidenced with Brisbane and Carlton recently.

It's not the worst, it gets us logue without losing what we had. It basically fixes our mistake of ccj for a second. If others hadn't of gotten anything as well this would be viewed alot differently. Glass half full.
