WTF??? That is a game changer, when was this even talked about as being a possibility? North’s Polec trade looks worse and worse for them.

So the f/s and academy system apparently doesn’t compromise the draft enough for AFL house’s liking.

I thought they had gotten rid of that Playstation trading/drafting loophole after the Sydney teams were stockpiling picks in the 40's for top 10 talents a few years ago?

I reckon rowey is trolling yous. I can't read any positive signs out of that AFC article with Hamish. Im almost certain we wont trade up now and if anything may give 21 away for a drop down the order this year and possibly a first round or very early second round pick from next year (if it is a early second rounder next year we better not drop far this year).

I'm as equally as excited about 8,13 and 16 as I am about 73 and 83 and our rookie picks. The latter ones will be where Hamish and the team really earned their keep and more than likely people we don't know much about. Almost certain there wont be a Hamish special this year.

I think it will go like this, we will wait and see what the Blues take and the Suns at pick 2.

With that we will then make our play. No point of going all in now if the Blues take a Rankine and the Suns Luko at 2.
I agree, although perhaps there has been some pre-draft agreements ????

I'm just looking forward to seeing everybody naming their side for R1 with several draftees named ahead of our whipping boys Douglas and Mackay. Happens every year. :D

Agreed. His comments are worded in a way that they want Carlton to take Walsh, and then I suspect they've agreed to pick 3 assuming Walsh goes 1 REGARDLESS of who goes at 2 so he's not showing his hand.

I also think the 5AA garbage on tonight is getting Crows fans ready for a big trade out of picks, but we'll all feel warm and fuzzy because it will be a better result than Rowe floated.

Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised if Cal Twomey doesn't get one of our picks right.

Why doesn't some journo have the balls to put a trade into their phantom draft?!
If they did have a good handle on who was going where .... they would also know all the trade pick scenarios

Basically what they’re all saying is .... top 10 basically stays as is, apart from father/son and Academy challenges

I love Smith. But there will be another one next year and the year after. King is a mobile 204cm KPP that is a bloody good mark and a very good set shot. The only question would be on his knee. Otherwise how can you overlook him?
Spot on ..... elite talls don’t grow on trees ..... mids are always there, every Draft

With Mackay not training until after new year it's not beyond the realms.

We shall see, I just dont see it.

“If I’m Gold Coast or Adelaide, I’d probably take ‘Luko’ [Jack Lukosius] or Izak (Rankine) one.

“There’s not a lot in it, they’re all terrific players and they bring different things. Obviously, Jack being the taller can play at both ends. I actually really like him as a defender, Izak’s got the X-factor and Sam Walsh is just rock solid.

“Whoever gets those players, and hopefully we get in a position to get one of them, they’ll be very pleased.”

Ham ain't the type to make such a comment if he wasn't confident he'll get one.

Think you're reading way too much into it.

lol...

keyword here is HOPEFULLY. Stop looking so far into what he's saying..

It's going to be interesting come the end of the night on Thursday when we know what players are still available and we have pick 2 on Friday.

We'll have 3 new Crow boys and probably a good idea of who the 4th will be.
Until the clubs with their eye on a certain player still on the board offer up a 2019 1st round pick anyway.

Yeah I don’t get it. If GWS trade pick 19, then they should give up whatever they get for that. But then, why?

Just makes no sense. Classic AFL.

I'd still say it's very unlikely, Hamish is just keeping his options open.
He’s just letting the fans know we have tried , ive predicted this all along . We offer something that doesn’t get taken up but at least we tried and they can say ‘ we put up a fair deal to get one of the SA boys across the line but they didn’t go for it ‘

Smart PR

It's a very nice position for us to be in.
Absolutely. If we take our picks to the draft and don't look to trade up, then if we get 3 great gets at 8, 13 & 16 I am all for trading 21 if a club comes calling with a 2019 1st ad I will back Haggis in to get a late gem or 2 with our late picks in this draft to fill our list

I think it make sense , all of a sudden first live draft trading of the night .

100%

I have no doubt we tried everything reasonable to land a top 3 pick.
