If this trade happened the draft could easily end up going

Carlton.-WLash
Ade - Luko
GC - M King
St K - Rankine
Port - Rozee
GC - B King
WB - Smith
GC - Caldwell

Therefore GC would get both Kings and Caldwell as well as 13 and net years first. Pretty smart trading if it happened.

I think it does say, we plan on bidding

Agreed. His comments are worded in a way that they want Carlton to take Walsh, and then I suspect they've agreed to pick 3 assuming Walsh goes 1 REGARDLESS of who goes at 2 so he's not showing his hand.

I also think the 5AA garbage on tonight is getting Crows fans ready for a big trade out of picks, but we'll all feel warm and fuzzy because it will be a better result than Rowe floated.

Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised if Cal Twomey doesn't get one of our picks right.

Why doesn't some journo have the balls to put a trade into their phantom draft?!

But if we secured 2019 picks from them and gave them 2019 picks - is that not a status quo?
The rule is we can't trade our 1st since we already traded our 3rd and 4th next year. GC don't have a 4th rounder to send back and won't give us Brisbane's 1st rounder in the deal, so it'd need AFL approval to happen.

No brainer if there's a 2nd coming back. Considering where both sides should finish there's a decent chance their 2nd will only be a relatively minor downgrade on our 1st.
Suns don't have a 2nd rounder, it's been upgraded to Brisbane's 1st rounder. Their 3rd rounder is Richmond's too, not their own.

If I’m GC I’m throwing the farm at a Luke Hodge type role for 2020. I would give Joel Selwood or Travis Boak a million dollars a year for 3 years to be captains / mentors.

Luckily if a deal in principle has been agreed and the AFL are keen for it to play out on national TV - I suspect they may bend their rule to accommodate - considering we are a club very well known for using picks wisely

All true footy fans understand that any key forward take a few years to reach their potential. Roughy and Franklin were very average for their first 30 games. I honestly think the supporter base will be patient with him. If he is struggling after 3 years then the drums would be beating however.
They do but this is Adelaide, it's different.

yeh that last sentence has me believing we'll get one of the SA boys.

Caroline Wilson says the Suns turned down pick 4 from the Saints for 6 and 24. Reckons the Saints want Bailey Smith and think they can get him at 6. Interesting to see what might happen if he's available at 8, but if they would trade 4 for 6 and 24 than 8 and 21 should do it?

i know hamish has a hard one for Luko, but ive always felt we'll do everything to get Rankine.
Then why get McAdam and Stengle ?? Luko is a much better option for the Suns though, hes much more likely to stay up there and they need KPPs....... amongst other things

She would have very little idea.

Way way way too much. Luckily Rowey said it so its incredibly unlikely to happen.

I would do 8 & 13 for 2 or 3..... but I bet they wouldnt. Any more than that and it becomes irresponsible to anyone who isnt a Rabbit
He started off by saying there was big talk the pick swap was happening, did he then change it to incredibly unlikely to happen?

Pass on Butters and McHenry prefer Sturt and Williams..
Nah, smart move taking great mates and Western Jets teammates Xavier O'Halloran and Zak Butters....then take lightning quick outside mid/winger Daly Andrews with #73 and rookie big bodied running back/mid Stefan Radovanovic and we keep the Western Jets quartet for their careers. That strategy working well for the Brisbane Lions. ;)

Not sure, the missus had control of the car radio on the way home !!!! Wouldnt shock me if he backtracked like he always does.
