If there are any major pick swaps to be done then they have already been agreed on and had their paper work done and will be announced Thursday as part of the theater of the night.

More likely though that we will not swap picks and are happy with what we have. Painful to read all these hypotheticals.

I wouldn't, surely another Sandringham Dragon Bailey Smith is in that same discussion along with the King twins?

I love Smith. But there will be another one next year and the year after. King is a mobile 204cm KPP that is a bloody good mark and a very good set shot. The only question would be on his knee. Otherwise how can you overlook him?

Definitely possible, their list has many many holes in it so they could look at a midfielder.

You answered your own question.

The AFL would hate for nothing to happen opening night.

Caroline Wilson says the Suns turned down pick 4 from the Saints for 6 and 24. Reckons the Saints want Bailey Smith and think they can get him at 6. Interesting to see what might happen if he's available at 8, but if they would trade 4 for 6 and 24 than 8 and 21 should do it?
Caro only reports what the Vic clubs want her to report. There is no truth in this.

They would know about his knee too, given they've looked after him. Maybe the Saints know King will be gone before pick 4 too

Ben at 202cm is also someone you can’t pass over imo. If he didn’t have a taller and slightly more talented brother, he would be rated much the same as Max was before his knee.

Then why get McAdam and Stengle ?? Luko is a much better option for the Suns though, hes much more likely to stay up there and they need KPPs....... amongst other things
Isn't mcadam a different beast? While Stengle would have to be long odds to make it.

Key forwards probably.
Probably...

And after two or three years of getting flogged and not getting the footy kicked to him at the suns... Lukosious will be itching to get home!..

And with Tex, JJ and lynch’s careers coming to an end the crows will have a shiteload of salary cap space and they can offer him a heap of coin to come home to the club he grew up supporting.

By then fog and the berg will be up and firing and we’ll have a forward line of fog, luko, and himmelburg as the talls...

I wouldnt say long odds, but yeah youd have to say hes no sure thing.

I still dont think Rankine is our first or second target.

If we take Rankine, it won't be for him to remain a small forward, he in my opinion will be groomed to become an Andy Mcleod mark II and will eventually be able to run through the midfield as needed

Max talent wise>>>>>>>>>>>Ben

That is my point. He is being compared immediately to his brother. But look at him on his own. Given his height, mobility and flexibility, he would be rated higher than he has been if he didn’t have an immediate player to compare with that’s slightly better.

He is a bit of a victim of being in the same draft year as his brother as well as the failures/under achievements of past talls like McCartin/Schache/Boyd/Weitering.

Makes sense, if they are looking at trading down that they wouldnt look at a deal to trade up.

I reckon your team will hold things up in the second round while you attempt to sell off your picks 24 and 29.

I reckon you might get Carlton or St Kilda to cough up a decent 2019 pick.

For instance, if Adelaide bids on Greater Western Sydney Academy member Kieren Briggs with pick No.16, the Giants would still be free to trade their next pick, No.19, and then match the Crows' bid with subsequent selections No.25 and 52.

WTF??? That is a game changer, when was this even talked about as being a possibility? North’s Polec trade looks worse and worse for them.

So the f/s and academy system apparently doesn’t compromise the draft enough for AFL house’s liking.
