Just putting out there what Twomey said.
Tigers really like him and only way to get ahead of that pick.
Saints also really like him.
Suppose they could trade up but Twomey himself has floated the idea that Smillie could be risked getting through to 10 on the last few gettables aswell.
Or we don't want your pick 2 because the difference in prospect from 2 to 6 isn't worth pick ~18 in this draft. Hence why there's been no trade and probably won't be one, genius

Tigers would love every player but they utterly love Smille. I’d be more shocked if they don’t take him at 6 than if they take Lalor at 1. Personally the Tigers can’t lose these are all great talents and you are splitting hairs
As a Saints fan, it'd be driving me insane knowing there's a chance they fall one pick short of the tier 1 mids

Scratch the Tahru thing North ain’t doing it and Melbourne have to be bonkers to go there at 5. Lindsay would be a nice choice at your first one then you can either sell the second to GWS for their two later ones or take a tall/another mid. I really like what you can potentially do with the second one feel that’s the pick that can be moved

Why? Worst case, we miss the mids and get the best tall in the draft. Still an excellent position to be in.
And when everyone looks back on this draft on 10-15 years time, I would guarantee the top 7 won't be considered the clear best 7 in the draft. They never are. No need to get caught up in guaranteeing one of them.

Especially this draft it’s a deep one there’s no Harley Reid’s in this draft though. A bloke at 10+ could easily be as good as the guy at 1. It’s why clubs want multiple selections this year

Ashcroft, FOS, Lalor, Draper, Smith are the 5 Tier 1's.
It seems North probably rate FOS at the top of their board.
Alot of us have been stating that for months.
We've stated ad nauseum in here we have a history of taking best available and it seems like we will just be repeating history.
I don't know why you would doubt it when everything points to Richmond taking Lalor and NM selecting FOS.
