If they go a key, it's surely at 9 where their range starts, it's also why I don't buy North taking the bloke at 2. He is not the second best talent on the board.
Felt from watching gettable this morning that, if still available, Cal is pretty confident the Dees will take Allan at 9. Pretty much ruled out a move for Armstrong

Its probable that we trade 23 or 24 into next year.
If you look at our history we usually do a draft night pick swap.
Last year we were selling like the market was crashing.

100% you'll send one to next year actually think you'll be eyeing Essendon's f1 for one of those ones, it might be 20. That for me makes sense, you still get your sliders, and I recon you hold the first in r2 through the night with the potential to take the pick. That's the biggest asset you have late in the piece

Don't hate it, he'd be a different type, but would you take him over a few others? Would be a POD as a mid

Melbourne making it pretty clear they are going best available. I think they go Tauru if Langford, Smith, FOS are gone. They haven't really been linked to Draper.

I think Draper gets to Saints if he gets past the crows.
If it's BPA, Draper is an absolute mile ahead of Tauru.

1/2 Lalor/FOS
1/2 Lalor/FOS
3/4 Jagga/ Draper
3/4 Jagga/ Draper
5 Langford or tauru
6 Smillie
7 whichever player not selected at 5

Then at 8 is the next rung of players

Tahru isn't going top 5 unless it's to North (and they would have to be dumb to do it), in fact he could last easily to St Kilda's picks.

Na. Let's give it another run. I don't think I fully appreciate Richmond's love of pick 6 yet.

Tahru is about as much chance of me going at 5 and I love 10 beers on the weekend mate. Zero nada no chance. Melbourne need MIDFIELDERS. At pick 9 maybe but they surely take a mid whoever that is at 5, Langford/Smillie/Jagga
Our reported interest in the top-end mids is for Lalor, FOS, Jagga and Langford only. If all four are off the board then we could very well go with Tauru. We likely rate a midfielder who should be available at pick 9 just as much as Draper or Smillie who would likely be picked between pick 6 and pick 8. Bo Allan would be my guess.

Personally I’m hoping that either North pick Tauru or Adelaide pick Draper which would likely mean that that one of FOS/Jagga/Langford lands at Melbourne.

Think the allure is his ability to play off halfback a la Brayshaw. Obviously with his size and athleticism the potential for him to become a big bustling midfielder as also an attractive proposition

yeah he's a mid/HB and he's be a great Brayshaw replacement

North could be feigning interest in FOS at pick 2 to force a trade from Richmond or Adelaide.
  • Richmond seem to rate Lalor and FOS as the best 2 players.
  • If Adelaide are interested in Jagga, then FOS going at pick 2 would mean Jagga is less likely to get past Carlton's pick

They're bluffing imo. They want Tauru.

You are hoping. Can't see North being that dumb. They can get him at the Saints picks if they want him

Bo Allan at pick 6 would be wild.

pick 9, second of Melbourne's picks is what is being rumoured. Probably the upper range but not a terrible pick direct replacement for Brayshaw, can play mid but fills the Brayshaw void at HB too.
