He had a stellar year. Proven at VFL level. His fault seems his size and short kick but I believe he could be elite with right team. Strangely I think would be great at Tigers Blues also a great match

For me he's just class and will improve at the next level. Is super hungry too. I prefer him to Lalor a fair bit personally.

Harley looks like he's drinking quite a few people's beers this offseason.

Kerch is looking in much better shape.

were the millers no ragrets GIF
He’d want to he’s half the player!😂 fyi love Colby but a Total own goal off the field too imagine the merch revenue at Arden St. it’s almost like self sabotage and it seemingly will continue taking Tauru at pick 2 a solid aiden corr replacement I guess. God west coast and north letting everyone know their plans hasn’t gone well for their negotiations this off season…

We aren't giving up FOS unless its for significant overs. The quantum of which only Richmond, St Kilda and Melbourne can offer. (I'm not expecting they will)

The only other option was Adelaide, because we seem to rank Draper almost on par with FOS, but they could not scrounge up a second rounder.

What a difference 2 points in a game makes!!! They beat the Blues in the last round by 2 points and jump above the Suns and Dees.

If they lost that would have picks 5 & 6 instead of 7 & 8.
The Saints socials were full of trolling shit about how they kicked Carlton out of finals up until Freo shit the bed and let the blues finish 8th. Was a hilarious read for us neutrals.

I wonder what saints would get for 7,8, f1.
Could they get 5,6 somehow?
I don't know how, just speculating.

Yeah I wondered if we should consider their f3 and dees f3 for our (Carlton’s) f2. Not for strategic draft capital reasons, more it would allow us to death ride 2 clubs not 1!

Gerreyn has developed mythical status on the NM board this year.

It'll be interesting to see how he goes against men after spending the year as a 100kg gorilla playing against kids.

(I realise there were a couple of east perth games too)

I wouldn't mind if we traded in an F3 to get him.

I'd love to have him, we have an outstanding WA recruiting manager who has runs on the board with Rance, Bolton, Baker, McIntosh and Broad. If he says he's a go then we'll take him.

Freo will be grabbing Gerreyn with their second so you guys are wasting your time hoping to get him.

And you've probably got a deal to end up turning 27 back into more points than the picks you traded it for.
Had a look at other clubs picks and the only ones who have picks to trade with Lions also need them for bids( Suns, Dons). Other club picks don't add up to pts for 27. Their pick 34 & others can be used to get more points but even there its touch and go. They can't trade picks with Saints or pies since they have traded some picks from them.

Don't think Lions have much options, they either use 27 for bid match or risk a bit of deficit and move it for futures with option to trade back in with their futures

If Lions bids are at 5(Levi) & 22(Sam), they need only around 2250pts and have 2475 already.

Given their later picks will gains another 200-300+ pts, they are likely to consider either direct trade for 27(703pts) for futures or a switcharoo if they want to enter back in to draft after Marshall bid.

I am hoping for a trade with Hawks
Pick27 for Blues F2+71+77 before Levi bid
& after Marshall bid
Trade in Pick33 for Dons F3 + later picks

Lions can then pick a quality tall with pick 33 which makes up for 100pt or so deficit if any. May not even move their pick for such low deficit.

They can't trade the same picks with Pies, but they can trade other picks with us. Small fry though. 52 and 55 for 43.

I think they'll be active. I think 27 will be traded down twice - eg 27 for 35 and 48 from Dogs. And then 35 for ...

Any concern about the Lalor, Smilie, Taranto, Hopper midfield mix for the next 5-6 years in such a fast paced/running game now?
Lalor won't play mid for a few years. Hopper probably won't be at Tiges in a few years. You can't bank on all your draftees making it. Wouldn't worry about it. If they're good players but a bad combo you trade one out.

That's the thing, they already have enough points, they don't need to do more trades to get points. Only need to hunt points if 27 or 34 is traded for futures.

So if they can line up a futures trade for pick 34 before Levi bid then your trade for pick 27 makes sense. But then can they trade back in to a 30's pick to get a player?
there are 3 vanishing picks btw 43 and 52. So will pies be willing to trade 55 to move 5 spots up from 52? Maybe they will.

Most teams plan around top 6 picks making it though

Hopper has another 5 years on contract. He has to want to leave to get out now

I think he'll be excellent anywhere. Really clean, smart and thinks quicker than those around him. They want the next Danger, Cripps, Martin who dominate physically, but if you haven't got them Lachie Neale and Caleb Serong are pretty bloody good. Midfield is the position where you can still really excel without being physically exceptional.

It's depend where they go, but I didn't think they had enough if Ashcroft goes top 3 and Marshall late first round? Which is where they should go.

Depends where the bid comes in. I think both will be 1st rounders to keep them honest with next years 1st

Then i think blues bidding could be seen as a positive gaining more points for camporelas late with their picks coming in. If they do then the ~2370 points they have, may need to be strengthened

Thats where they likely do a live trade at on blues bid turning 27 and 34 for example into more points.

If that gets to then thats where they start turning then into F2s and later points this year

Just checking now they seem good for most points with Ashcroft 3 and Marshall late 1st... so probably look at F3s and then late points if bid at 3, then if it gets to 5 look maybe more so at F2 range and late points

I wouldn't factor Hopper or Taranto into it at all. These kids are only 23 in 5 years and just beginning to hit their prime. It's when Hopper and Taranto are finishing that you're hoping these kids have you beginning to challenge.

Tigers will be dreaming of putting together a group like Brisbane in 2001, Geelong in 2007. That success was 6-8 years after those stars were drafted. The whole needs based drafting that many talk about is silly - unless you've got a group of youngsters coming through already like North. The timeframes of needs are usually out of whack with the kids development.

I don't think you can trade out once a bid happens. So they have to lay their bets early. 27 might get traded for future second plus some points, then increase points by trading down a few other picks and they'll be right. Probably end up with something at the end to either trade or use if they've got the vacancy.

Impressive win over Carlton’s reserves in the final round to be sure.
Gun midfielders are overrated anyway.
Even when the saints win … they lose.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
