Not on bad terms with yourself mate are ya.What is a small slide?
A couple of picks? Then why chase Pick 6 that's more than a couple you have NFI

I more so see it as a marriage of convenience for both sides. I personally love Tauru as an option and would take him at 2 for both fit and ceiling. We know North need talls. We know North just made room to take more picks. We know Richmond will have a queue of buyers for its picks out the door and round the corner.
We believe North want Tauru. But some North fans dispute that he's the be-all and end-all. It might be that North will be happy with two highly-rated talls. If they miss Tauru, say Armstrong and Trainor.
The only thing it says is how highly FOS is rated, as does the likelihood that he will go in the top-2 (and certainty he'll go top-3) no matter who holds pick 2.
It's a game of chicken. Richmond holds 8 of the first 24 picks, North 1 of the first 61. Richmond would be insane and frankly negligent to move first.
Thank you for actually putting names to the 3 you would like. Pages of Richmond posters pretending to be in the know but just referring to the “third” player being there at 6 was tiresome.Just for arguments sake...
Lalor
FOS
Draper
Jagga (Crows)
Smillie (Dees)
Langford
One of Jagga, Langford or Smillie will be available at 6
He actually did on North media. Essentially boiled down to open to trading but only if moving back a couple of spaces. Weird thing to try to plant a flag on.No he didn't stop talking
The Kangaroos' first pick has long been linked with a switch to a rival, with the Tigers believed to be keen to snare the first two selections in this year's draft.
Head of Football talent Brady Rawlings admitted shortly after the end of the trade period that after utilising Picks 24 and 44 to secure Caleb Daniel, Luke Parker and Jacob Konstanty during the trade period, they were "light on" with selections.
However, Rawlings was open to using Pick 2 to help slide down the order, as well as the club's future pick.
If Ralphy didn’t say it, maybe it didn’t happen. He actually did on North media. Essentially boiled down to open to trading but only if moving back a couple of spaces. Weird thing to try to plant a flag on.
7 + F1
Saints 8 to GWS for 15 and 16.
Saints 7 and 15 to North for 2.
Saints have 2 and 16
North has 7 and 15
GWS has 8
Rich Give 10+11+20, Get 2+16
GWS Give 15+16, Get 13+20
Port Give 13 + 29, Get 10
North Give 2, Get 11+15+29
North Give 11 + 29
Saints Give 7 + 47
North end with 7, 15, 47
Saints end with 8, 11, 29, 32
Every clubs top 5 probably has some variance, hence there's a chance someone unexpected is there at 6, happens in many years.Huh.
That seems like you're hoping one of the top 5 slides to 6 ...
7 + F1 is correct.
I don’t know the details of the other deal at this stage other than Port end up with 10 in the mix.
As a Saints supporter, would you be more inclined to do deal 2, 3 or 4 above?7 + F1 feels like a lot to give, I'd prefer to get an F2 (do we offer a 3rd for this?) back considering many are predicting Saints to be bottom 4-6. If that's the offer, so be it, feels a lot to give. It's a much better offer than what Eagles got for pick 3.
F1, whether it's ours or Norths, could absolutely be a top 5 pick. Sure, next year is littered with academy/father sons but top 5 is top 5 - definitely a hot commodity even for a club who wants to get in front of a bid.
Basically what I'm getting at is a club will jump if North's F1 (or St Kilda's) is on the table.
I'd say St Kilda's offer could be the strongest based on the possibilities the F1 gives.
It's only moderately less likely than some others offeredNorth give: 2 and F2
Richmond give: 18 and 23
St Kilda give: 7 and F1
North receive 7, 18, 23
Richmond receive: F1 (St Kilda)
St Kilda receive: F1 (North)
Carlton receive: Pick 2
Am I doing this right?
As a Saints supporter, would you be more inclined to do deal 2, 3 or 4 above?
Haha, yes, I think the above scenarios are predicated on the notion that SOS really wants FOS or Jagga. Otherwise, why would you bother. To be completely honest, unless Dalrymple is obsessed with FOS or whoever is at #2, not trading at all in those scenarios is probably the best option in the hope one of the top tier mids falls through.
Deal 6 thanks .... where do I sign? From a Saints point of view we're looking at the following draft hand after each suggestion:
Deal 1 - 7, 8, 32, 47, F1
Deal 2 - 2, 8, 32, 47
Deal 3 - 2, 16, 32, 47, F1
Deal 4 - 8, 11, 29, 32, F1.
To be completely honest, unless Dalrymple is obsessed with FOS or whoever is at #2, not trading at all in those scenarios is probably the best option in the hope one of the top tier mids falls through.
Again, as a Saints supporter, if we miss the pick 2 show, I'd go to GWS and throw up 8 & 47 for 15 & 16 or our F1 for Pick 16. In these scenarios we end up with:
Deal 5 - 7, 15, 16, 32, F1
Deal 6 - 7, 8, 16, 32, 47.
End of the day, if we sit on our hands (unlikely with trigger finger SOS) - we will be grabbing a couple of great top 10s in a great draft.
Going on record hoping like hell we can grab Jack Ough before a bid for Cole or Hofmann comes in. Will be a star that kid!
We're past trading for picks. Even though we are still trading for picks, we're really trading for players. (Except future picks, they're still magic beans.) When we look at the reported 6 + 11 for 2 + F1 as effectively Tauru and Armstrong (or from Richmond's POV giving away Smillie and Armstrong/Allan/Hotton) for FOS and a magic bean Richmond can't harvest for another year, we can understand why Richmond isn't keen on it.I more so see it as a marriage of convenience for both sides. I personally love Tauru as an option and would take him at 2 for both fit and ceiling.
The question I think North will ask is value. Can we get a preferred KPP and something extra or do we value another player in that place which I wouldn’t count out.
Richmond has options. I guess for them it’s how highly do they rate their second option vs what at “worst” they have available at 6. Also if they prefer that or a F1 in another draft. Really a lot of permutations.
If I had to make a choice it seems to make sense for both teams. North get KPP either Tauru or Armstrong + something and Tigers get 2 most desired players and still have picks where they can get other role players.
It's Smillie.Thank you for actually putting names to the 3 you would like. Pages of Richmond posters pretending to be in the know but just referring to the “third” player being there at 6 was tiresome.
Agree. After the JHF fiasco and with victorian based players also around the projected talent mark, i see north if they hold the pick being a little gun shy picking another SA kid and taking one of FOS or Smith or Lalor.I'm going out on an opposite limb and suggesting there is zero chance North pick Draper at 2.
SoS usually trades well.

We've had Toce (RIP) absolutely nailing each pick for the past few years. This year hopefully Dalrymple gives us more Chad Warner's and less Dylan Stephens. Either way, so long as SOS trades and let's others draft, I'm confidentSoS usually trades well.
Unfortunately for us he drafted pretty poorly.
But Tiger supporters will tell you that 6 is NOT going to be a part of any deal .... yet they are happy to take pick 2 whilst coughing up picks that won't satisfy North ... even with GWS & Port's involvementWasnt the earlier chats in here that Richmond peeps laughed at 6 and 11 and North peeps hated 6 and 18? Given the picks GWS and Port have between those picks, you'd think a deal everyone is happy with can work out pretty easily.
Problem is they just watched Gold Coast do ungodly things, WC bend over backwards and Freo be nice all to their benefit. They currently have the right to bask in the aroma of their own farts until proven otherwise. But Tiger supporters will tell you that 6 is NOT going to be a part of any deal .... yet they are happy to take pick 2 whilst coughing up picks that won't satisfy North ... even with GWS & Port's involvement
Or maybe, just maybe, the Tigers supporters are correct with the value we hold in this draft. We've been on the money 3/3 times already with the Rioli, Baker, Bolton trade outcomes.Problem is they just watched Gold Coast do ungodly things, WC bend over backwards and Freo be nice all to their benefit. "We" is a very broad brush given some of the demands from Richmonds peeps.Or maybe, just maybe, the Tigers supporters are correct with the value we hold in this draft. We've been on the money 3/3 times already with the Rioli, Baker, Bolton trade outcomes.
