SOS in the most overrated bloke in the industry. Remember when he tried to split the pick 9 to trade for Papley, Sydney laughed at him (Pick 9 straight up would have got the deal done).
Carlton at the draft then bid on 9 Liam Henry which was matched LOL, and 10 T.Green academy matched, but had no interest in drafting 11 Flanders, 12 Pickett or 13 W.Day so he traded the pick to get Kemp and Flip instead.
Or overpaying for Saad (8) despite him being out of contract and even admitting after the standoff Adrian The Dodo bird was hard to deal with and got the better of him in trading.

Problem is they just watched Gold Coast do ungodly things, WC bend over backwards and Freo be nice all to their benefit. They currently have the right to bask in the aroma of their own farts until proven otherwise.
In Blair we trust

But on a serious note
I believe Richmond is extremely happy with where our current picks sit and not infatuated with any player and will take the highest rated on their board (hopefully its Lalor)

Looks like Blair wants to keep #6 as he rates the players evenly and most likely believes 1 of Smillie , Langford or Jagga will still be on the board and if a KPP is taken with #2 or #5 maybe even a choice of 2 of these players.

The dealings going on may be Blair trying to get the 3rd of the top 6/7 players that are considered to be part of the top Tier in this draft but conscious of the cost and how it effects not only this draft but also 2025 as im certain he would be planning to bring at least 1 and possibly 2 future 1st rounder in with our later picks considering there are 7 teams
St Kilda , North , Eagles , Geelong , Essendon , Gold Coast , Brisbane all mentioning they would be looking to trade back in

I doubt just pick 8 would satisfy GWS for 15 and 16. I imagine we’d have to throw in 47 at a bare minimum or perhaps/probably even 32.

If they offered 15 and 16 for 8 and 32 right now I’d probably take it.

We move back 7 places in the first round (in an area where the talent looks very even) to move up 16 places from R2 into R1.

That sounds about right.

Then again, last year they traded us what turned out to be pick 24 this year, for us to move back from 17 to 18 (so that they didn’t have to settle for Darcy Wilson!), so who knows.

Here’s a crazy thought.

If North do this multi-club trade and end up with multiple picks from 11 onwards (for 2), and Tarau is indeed their man, they could then use whichever of those picks they need to trade back up to 8, if he’s still on the board then.

That way, they get their man, have a guaranteed pick or two left in the first 25, and we get to do the pick 8 split that we’re open to doing.

How about

Rich
Give 6 and 20
Get 2

North
Give F1 and 2
Get 6 and 8

St Kilda
Give 8
Get 20 and Norths F1

If North are going tall at 6 then it guarantees one of Draper, Langford or Smillie will be available to St Kilda otherwise they will likely miss out.
Unless Melbourne go early on a tall North can get Tauru and Armstrong. If Melbourne do go early one of those three highly rated mids will be available to North and they still get Armstrong or Tauru.
