It's a huge honour to be named in the Dragons Hall of Fame. Ever since I started the club as the Dragons then Southern Dragons (freaking forced merger) and then the modern day Dragons there's nowhere else I'd rather be. It's a fantastic club and great leaders. I'm equally as honoured to be inducted with Ljp who is the greatest Dragon of all time. It's been quite a ride and there's no one else better to share it with. You're an absolute legend

Rd 15 - vs Geelong Wolves - Dancing around Wolves (the sequel to Dancing with Wolves)

Ah the Wolves.


Really a case of the Yeti here. No confirmed sightings, but rumours float around, but all we really come up with is some grainy footage of "Willo_ foraging through dumpsters”.


The game, much like the week that preceded it, was a terribly lopsided affair. The Wolves failed to yelp, as ex-wolf and star Dragons recruit Hatchy1992 pantsed his old side with a dominant 7 goal display. If it weren’t for a team rotational policy early in the season, the big lug would have been a huge hand to land the inaugural Fred medal. Hatch wasn’t alone however, as WFL, roo2macca, Determinant and out-of-form skipper cammo6556 pitched in with some grade A downhill skiing. Only pantskyle bothered showing up as his team struggled to make any inroads on a hefty early lead.


The Dragons ran out 73 point winners, but the real question is: will @iBengs one possession game be enough to squeeze him into the votes???

Rd 16 vs Warriors - Once were Warriors (unfortunately, still are)

Yeah, so a game against the Wolves isn’t great preparation for the next week.


A flaccid all-round performance in this round 16 clash wasn’t enough to dislodge a top 2 finish from the Dragons grasp as the Warriors …[some kinda GOT reference here] the Dragons.


Led by Wooshette, playing the role of Temuera Morrison’s character, the Warriors restricted the Dragons supply from the midfield and capitalised on opportunities to make for a match that was so disinteresting, frankly I stopped reading and skipped straight to the stats.


On revision of said stats. however, it seems AmericanCrow played one of his finer games for the season, kicking two as he works towards cementing his spot in the line up. Hate was serviceable but lost the battle with Frankston Rover, whilst A Swallow and WFL toiled hard.



Everyone's favourite yank AmericanCrow takes the points here, whilst WFL suffers a bigger blow than most adult entertainment websites can deliver.

Rd 17 vs Demons - Gigli

The movie title has little connection to the game apart from the fact it was voted the worst movie ever by a website I looked at, and that’s kinda like our finish to the regular season.


Skipper cammo6556 led from the front and was ably supported by newer recruits Dujon11, vanders and TheCuzEffect. VSTone and Scorpus were more than serviceable whilst Hatchy1992 found his kicking boots, slotting 5.


Nobody had and answer, for okeydoke7 as he slotted 7 in what would prove to be a match winning display… but nobody cares about that because @DennisClarkeM made some great confit salmon nibblies for the post game whilst we all enjoyed a drunken @VSTone’s Casey Donovan impersonation.

He played on me in the All-SFA pre-season tour of the Collingwood board. Unfortunately he was always going to have some lingering effects from that game

Second Qualifying Final vs Las Vegas Bears

Jeepers.

Where the hell was this all season?

WFL continued his stellar season as he and VSTone absolutely dominated around the ground to drive a determined Dragons unit into a trillionth successive Preliminary Final. WFL laid an enormous 14 tackles to go with his 19 disposals and two goals, whilst VSTone had 28 disposals, nine marks and a goal as the Dragons led at every change to hold off the fast finishing Bears outfit. Dujon11, roo2macca, Scorpus and @knifey spooky all won their positions and must be considered among the votes. Unsung hero Pie 4 Life again proved crucial, holding Doctor Gero to two goals.

Preliminary Final - vs Bombers - Showgirls

*Sigh*


Revisiting this is not fun. What proved to be an enjoyable week all crumbled like home-brand weetbix in the space of the first term as the rampaging Bombers held the Dragons goalless whilst banging on seven of their own. Itsmyshow flapped his gums intermittently about it being “his show” and for once, he was dead right. The Dragons had no answer to the dominant big man as he continually kicked the game further out of their reach, finishing with 10 for the match. The Dragons midfield brigade all toiled hard, but struggled to make any inroads into the huge lead, whilst the forward had little opportunity. Statistically a very difficult match to award votes for as we were all soundly beaten.


In what proved to be the outing of the season, it was a disappointing way to bow out, but there was plenty of positives.
