Salopek is a great addition, the key obstacle for Sal is staying on the park. I had him at the start of last year till he done his shoulder and he was comfortably averaging over 100 at the time. Once he came back he really struggled and didn't fire a shot, i got out of that one lucky by trading him straight away. His form in the Nab cup opener suggests a move off the hbf and back into the middle which will spell a lot more points for Sal.

I don't know about SC, but IMO Salopek would be a horrible DT pick this year. Has gone from running around on the wing/half back getting cheap kicks and marks (which gets him 6 points every time) to being in the centre square fighting hard to get out handballs (which gets him 2 points every time). I think he'll definitely improve as a footballer this year, but I can't see him improving as a DT'er. Plus he gets injured a lot.

1) in with HTF did he only get positioned as a MID and not a MID/DEF?

2) truth. imo the biggest killer for inside-mids is their lack of easy 3s for cheap marks that the outside mids and linkmen thrive on. see daniel kerr's BOG against us in R2 last year which was only worth 90-odd points instead of 120+ because he took ZERO marks.

Just wondering if Mitch banner will get much of a go during the year. You guys seem to have a fairly solid bunch of midfielders (cassisi, cornes, pearce salopek) so Im thinking he may not get much of a run once the real stuff starts. Thanks guys

Have heard a bit about Kane Cornes being used more up forward this year say on a HFF. Obviously this would bring his scores down a bit Do you guys expect this to be the case or will we see him stay in the middle and win plenty of the ball?

N. Krakouer, Do you think he will go up from his 70 average last year ?
Tossing up between him and Hurley

He definitely 'could'. If he keeps playing like he did last weekend he will, was demanding the ball at every opportunity and the players want to give it to him. Two things that worry me about Krak though are a tendency to handball instead of kick and susceptibility to tag.

He'll play forward. I'd stay away, plenty of better options at the same price.

I'm happy to take the punt at DT$418k. Apart from his scoring potential in this new role, first sign of trouble in the midfield and Chocolate won't be able to resist plowing him back in there.

I'd rather Cassisi at the same price tbh. Was averaging 100 last year until Jordan Lewis put a dent in his face.

I have gone Cassiski for the past two years he has been the seccond most prolific tackler in the game other than Kirk!

After his NAB cup performance on the weekend, how do you like Moore's chances as a scorer in FF? Secondly, do you think he'll play many games this season?

I dont think so, I think we have enough depth and talent not to expose our draft picks before they need to be. He would need to step in front of, Thomas, Banner, Davenport, Carr, Harding and Meyer. The only locks we have on Midfielders would be, Salopek, Boak, Hartlet, Gray and Cassisi, but a this stage I think unless injuries played a massive part on our side Neither JMP or Moore will see much time in the leauge side this year. John Butcher I could see as our next option forward, especially if we play 4 talls.

If your looking for Value on the Port front, Robbie Gray should become a cash cow from $321,200, he will spend a lot more time on the ball than he has previously and will average more posessions in doing so. Daniel Stewart was mightily impressive in the North Adelaide SANFL leauge side last year and started well against the Crows and is tremendous value at $94,400, Jackson Trengove should also see some game time so at $94,400 would be a smart move as an emergancy. Again another emergancy, Mitch Banner could become a keeper similar to Daniel Rich last year (and is only $94,400), I suspect if he can establish himself, he will average 70-80 points per game, He is an insde Midfielder who tackles and Kicks the ball long, Clearance work is tremendous and his first option is to Kick the pill. In the ruck, Matthew Lobbe seemed to be being groomed for the second ruck possition, however now he may have been surpassed By Justin Westhoff, however again at $94,400 would be worth a stab on the rookie list, He is an athletic Ruckman who hunts the ball and will always have a high tackle count. Dom Cassisi for the past two years has been the second highest tackeler in the game and only running second to Brett Kirk, while not cheap @ $412,000 he will average over 100 points per match bar injury this year. Cameron Hitchcock is also one to watch out for, not a high posession winner so if he is elivated he would be for profit only @ $97,800 is still reasonably cheap. But as far as forwards go, Nick Salter @ $222,900 will be great value, Kicks goals, Takes marks and Lays tackles, May even play down back as a rebounding Half Back Flanker, Played down back in the NAB cup and done a teriffic job.

So I have Gray, Stewart and Salter in my starting 7 Forwards, Banner, Trengove and Lobbe all as emergancies!

Best of luck guys!

Thanks mate, appreciate it.

All that is super handy information. Just wanted to specifically know on Moore's potential as a fantasy scorer as I'm in a keeper league (we draft players and all that), think he might be a decent acquisition at my first pick.

so If I could only squeeze one emergency ruckman, who would be better? M.Lobbe or J.Trengove? which seems to be marginally ahead?
or should I wait for this weeks game to judge?

I would wait, I am questioning whether to keep Lobbe and shuffle the team around and get Westhoff. Warnock from the blues is good value too.

What kind of average do you think Robbie Grey will have?

Honestly 95-110, I think he will average about 23-26 posessions a game, average around 1.8 goals a game and with our new game style tackling is now seccond nature. He has great hands for his size, so I suspect in Choco's structure chip kicking marks and kicks will be up.

^ Regardless Moore is a far better option. Butcher probably won't play a game this year.
