Personally I would go with option A. I think Tarrent will be given a fair amount of game time given his last few years. Watts should be a solid performer for you as well.

Another option could be to go Hitchcock-> McNeil which would allow you some extra cash + you could swap him and Rohan around easier. Just an option.

Now for my dilema...

Not sure whether I should go-

Hille-> Cox and Ball-> Boyd

OR

Hille-> Jolly and Ball-> Hayes/NDS/Selwood/Judd

If option B, who to choose out of those 4?

Hope you went A mate. The clear correct choice.

Any opinions on what to do in my situation

currently have 3 trades left & $30,700

have been getting donuts for hille while he has been out

considering finally trading him for either ryder or jolly as its costing me league games?

should i keep hille, he is still out for 1-2 weeks or trade him even though not many trades left

Depends on where you are sitting in the league. Can you afford to lose a couple of games and still make finals?

If not bringing in Cox means you miss out on finals - then definitely do it - no brainer there.

If you can afford to lose last two games (or your side is strong enough to hold off you opponents anyway) I would look to hold off the trades. Trades are precious come finals.

I have no plans to trade this week either, saving them for later in the year. Nothing too concerning injury wise for my side in the past fortnight.

sorry quick question not directly related to a trade but will have an impact on the trade i make.

What is the cut off point in terms of points behind the leader....ie-can you win the comp from 200-300-400-500 etc points behind.

im not really in striking distance but not 100% sure....

if i am in striking distance i will take on more risk, but if not then prepare for finals.

I think you'd at least want to be in the top 250 to be in striking distance now. If you have enough trades left, then it's very possible if your team is complete.

I still haven't made my final upgrade to my team..Just need to make my final upgrade in the backline. I have 100k in my bank and I will upgrade webberly/hunt to gilbert/lake when I can. have also wondered if I should trade in someone like rohan in the middle as a backup to use as a DP. But of course it is important to hold your trades.

I'm currently 83rd and give myself no chance. I'm 507 points from the leader and it's pretty tough to make that sort of ground up. A lot would have to go right for me and a lot wrong for the people above. I caught up 150 odd points on the leaders this week, but that was the first week in ages that I have made up that many points. Would need to make up 100 pts each round to have a chance, which is going to be very very tough.

I'd say if you are within 300-400 points of the leader at this stage, you may be a chance. Anything beyond that I think you're going to struggle. I reckon maybe the top 40-50 teams are a chance and thats about it.

Hey guys I need some thoughts on how to use my last two trades. I have one upgrade left in Dustin Martin who has risen to $327,200 with a breakeven of 70. I have $36,000 in the bank to add on to his price. I have come to the conclusion upgrade him in the following ways:

Straight swap to Brent Stanton (350k) and leave my last trade incase of injuries later in finals

OR

Downgrade Brown to rookie and upgrade Martin to STAR in Boyd, Ablett ect.

Thoughts ??

Don't trade. One trade, let alone none is not enough for injury insurance. Unless you're in the running for the car hold onto your trades.

Anyone else think that seeing as Geelong only have a training drill on this weekend, they might rest some of their stars?

No. Top 4 is not secure yet.

Hey guys
I need to upgrade Chris Yarran to a decent forward this week (maybe Chappy, Harvey or Thomas). To get the cash I need, I want to downgrade one of my emergencies:

Backs: Webberley, Hams

Mids: Rohan, Shuey

Rucks: Warnock, Bass

Fwds: Hitchcock, Watts

Obviously my midfield bench is a worry as none of them are playing, though I have been using Rohan’s DP link to switch Goodes or O’Keefe into the mids whenever another midfielder was injured. Should I:

a) Downgrade Webberley/Hams for Ash Smith from WCE, given that there’s a fair chance I will still have cover from either Webberley or Hams?
b) Downgrade Rohan to McNeil (given Rohan doesn’t seem to be coming back anytime soon) and McNeil will keep the DP connection?
c) Downgrade Hitchcock for someone cheap (maybe McNeil? Now Tarrant is out there aren’t any prospects)

I feel Watts shouldn’t be downgraded as his JS is pretty good and he can be a decent bench warmer. Note that I have 4 trades left, so I will use two this week and keep two for injuries for the rest of the season.

I am leaning towards option (a), but happy to be convinced otherwise……thoughts?

3 trades left.

Thoughts on Hall to Roo/Didak?

A little annoyed i didn't do it last week as had Hitchcock (24) for cover.

If Hall is back this week I may hold off but if not i don't think i'm capable of not trading.

haha nah In the end I decided to be a bit more unique (for league purposes), so I went with Jolly and Hayes.

Hayes was good, and Jolly will hopefully come good this week. I just really wasnt sure about Cox, I mean if he got a little niggle, he would be rested, whereas Jolly is super durable (better for league).

Yes I was thinking about him as well, seems to have had a good start (in terms of his scores at least, not having seen any of his first two games).

Any Eagles fans out there who can comment on his JS?

job security is very good. He will not get dropped this year barring unforseen circumstances. he has played really good footy and looks a good player. He also survived the chop when hurn came back so trade away.

Which will be the best ruck combo going into finals?

I have Sandilands and Hille (with Tippett cover).

I would have thought the options are Cox, Ryder, Jolly, Mumford.

My opponents in finals all have Sandilands and Cox, so should i look for something different to get an edge, or just negate the rucks and pick up Cox?

I have the same dillema.. my thinking is that if hille is fit come round 18 just keep him on, if not i think a trade to jolly to finish thr year off strongly could be the way to go? what are u leaning towards?

Anyone else getting itchy with Waters?
I understand he has being playing 'defensive' roles(unfortunately have missed the Weagles passed 3). The question I have is will this continue?

At this moment in time I would love to have Brian Lake, who I reckon is the best DT**** of the year and probably the best since Joel Bowden. He Doesn't work for most of his possesions, which shows me that he can sustain this rich vein of scoring (such as the 115 average over the last 3 weeks he possess). The other positives with Lake are he is relatively 'unique', durable and its is highly likely he will keep the same role.I have 4 trades left and a fair bit of dough. With my team 'set' I am no longer looking for value.

As I am ranked about 800th, unfortunately I have come to the notion that I will not have a new car in my drive way by August. Nevertheless I have always played for overall ranking. Lately I have been on a bit of a hot streak with my last 6 weeks averaging out to be 2270. With this in mind I believe a top 500 finish is with in reach. Now with Waters on a recent slide the decision stands on whether or not this trade is worthy. In the end I realise this trade is not a commonly accepted one, but one that could garnish points and further carry my side up the rankings.
In the end just a bit of food for thought...

Has me worried as well tbh. Will give him this week to prove his worth otherwise i may consider this trade as i cant have someone scoring 50 in the lead up to the closing rounds.
