Thoughts on how to improve my team? It's been frustrating the hell out of me. Round 10 ranked 650, 9 weeks, 6 trades later and am now ranked 1130. So i've used a 3rd of my trades and gone backwards lol.

My aim was top 500 which i think i still possible but i've got a couple of dodgy picks i think. 1 trade and not much change. I'm guessing a conservative approach?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Cheers.
Any1 have any ideas on what i should do with my last trade.

My team is

Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Kelly, Gilbert, Gram, H.Shaw (Webberly, A.Smith)

Ablett, Swan, Judd, Cooney, Montagna, Bartell (Gysberts, McNiell)

Sandilands, Cox (Warnock, Trengove)

Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Reiwoldt, Okeefe, Franklin, Rockliff, Didak. (Grant Okeefe)

I have 103K in the bank so should be able to get any1 in. Was thinking Rockliff for maybe Chapman. Rockliff seams to be tapering off. Cant see anything that isnt a sideways trade. Maybe in 2 weeks i can get lake in cuz he will drop after his 88. But who for.

Cheers in advance
Both of you should save your last trade for next week at a minimum, and possibly even the final week depending on league situation.

Any point doing Pods -> Brown or too sideways?

Could downgrade Rohan to McNeil and grab any forward but obviously requires an extra trade.

3 trades left.

This time of year u may as well go the double trade- JB not a bad option though

I have trades to burn and want to bring in Montagna- probably for a DP fwd Brennan, ROK or Pav.....who has the worst run home and is most expendable?

It's one of those ones where you have to look at your opponents teams... Jared brennan is the most 'unique' so if you are a bit behind your opponents you might like to get a potential boost from having Brennan in your team. ROK and Pav are a bit more 'mainstream'

FYI - i would keep ROK and Pav. Both their teams want to play finals and are both very important pieces in their respective teams' puzzles.

My team is:

BACKS: Goddard; Hodge; Enright; Scotland; Gram; Hargrave; Shaw (Webberley; Strijk)

MIDS: Swan; Ablett; Montagna; Boyd; Bartel; Selwood (Harwood; Rohan)

RUCKS: Sandilands; Cox (Warnock; Lobbe)

Forwards: Didak; Pavlich; ROK; Franklin; Giansiracusa; Riewoldt; Rockliff (Higgins; Tippett)

I am through to prelim finals so will do 1 more upgrade next week.

Who is the best player to bring in?

Lake (for Gram or Shaw) - don't really want to change anyone in my backline as they're all going pretty well.

Chapman (for Rockliff or Pav) - he might get rested in the GF week as cats have WC at Kardinia park.

Goodes (for Rockiff or Pav) - finishes off well, won't get rested, and has Brissy at the GABBA rd 22

Which would you choose and why? or any other suggestions.

Cheers

I'd go Lake for Gram, followed by Goodes for Pav. I wouldn't really say Gram is going that well. Chappy I would stay away from, not going that well and might well get rested. Lake against Essendon in rd 22 could rack up a massive score I reckon. Goodes is a pretty solid choice as well of course, and Pav is struggling big time.

Going for broke for the car. Trading out Gibbs for anyone under 412k. Obvious choice is Bartel, other options Dal Santo, Simpson, Stanton, Murphy or a little left field Brent Harvey which will give me DP into the forward line where I have a plethora of DP options.

While Bartel is the safest option, the other are a little more unique and if they happen to score big could be more likely to push me up the rankings. The theory being that if most people above me have Bartel then it doesn't really make a difference if he scores well.

Toying with the idea of trading out Pavlich or Carrzzo.

Neither have set the world on fire the past 2 months.

Either

Carrazzo -> Duffield
or
Pavlich -> Thomas

Clouding my thoughts are that Pav looks like he needs a rest and may miss a week!

Wouldn't trade either of them but if u had to trade one i'd go with Pav. Agree, doesn't look right at all. But then again I also blame his team kos eversince barlow did his injury there has been no supply to him at all in the forward line. Saying that Carrots last three games against Richmond (131), Geelong (104) & Freo (90). Those are pretty good scores he notched up against them this year.

With JB set to miss this week I can't rely on my benchman's Pods & Henderson to score big. Which is the better trade?

A) Pods to Chapman
B) Henderson to Goodes or Chapman

2 trades left, 168k remaining. Opponent in the semi's has both! My gut says A, but once chappy gets rested i'd hugely regret the trade.

Hey guys, this is my team:

Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Gilbert, Duffield, Malceski, Harbrow (Webberley, Hams)

Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Goodes, Gibbs, Mitchell (Rohan, Shuey)

Sandi, Jolly (Warnock, Bass)

Didak, Buddy, ROK, Riewoldt, Stevie J, Rockliff, Watts (Yarran, Hitchcock)

3 trades and $40k left

League is my priority, I am confident, though not certain, I will make the GF, so round 21 is important but round 22 is huge. Just wondering what my best strategy is:

A) Yarran > McNeil/Hicks, Hitchcock or Hams > cheapie, Rohan > Boyd

B) Yarran > Liam Jones, Watts > Harvey, save a trade for final round (eg for an injury, or to trade Rockliff, Gibbs or ROK for a better option if they are still out of form)

C) Another strategy???

Thanks!

I finished first in my league and won my 1st Qualifying final. I got this week off and looking to strengthen my side for my 1st Preliminary final.

My current team:

Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Malceski, Carrazzo, Waters, Shaw (McGuire, Webberley)

Swan, Montagna, Ablett, Selwood, Ball, Mitchell (Hardingham, Harwood)

Sandi, Cox (Warnock, Lobbe)

Chapman, Goodes, ROK, Giansiracusa, Brown, Riewoldt, Hall (Podsiadly, Davis)

3 trades and $174,100k in the bank.

Looking for any suggestions on who I should bring into the side.

Cheers.

I would downgrade this week so you have cash for the last 3 trades (the week off is the best week to downgrade IMO).

Pods or Davis, probably Davis because it seems he won't get back in, are your best ones to downgrade.

Who the heck is McGuire?

I'd wait for the teams to see if Yarran returns from injury and Rohan gets back into the seniors.

Hicks is a better option than McNeil simply because he's playing.

So I'd go option A, then swap Goodes and Hicks. The go Rohan Boyd and put Boyd on the field for Hicks. You have an MPP as your 7th mid and you don't have to start Watts.

Harvey is good, but expensive now (I got him at 350 k:)), and I don't think Jones will be there in round 22 with the Dogs pushing for finals.

Backs: Goddard, Hodge, Gilbert, Waters, Shaw, Hargrave (Webberley, Strijk)
Midfield: Swan, Montagna, Pendlebury, Selwood, Bartel, Gibbs (Martin, McNeil)
Ruck: Sandilands, McIntosh (Warnock, Trengove)
Forward: Goodes, Giansiracusa, Pavlich, O'Keefe, Franklin, Sylvia, Riewoldt (Hitchcock, Dennis-Lane)

I was just wondering whether anyone had any ideas on what I could do to improve to improve my side. Very important couple of weeks coming and I wanna maximise my scoring. Pavlich and Gibbs the weak points in my opinion, getting a bit sick of them.

5 trades so I can afford to use a few and take some risks.

Cheers

Gilbert coming in for me this week at his lowest price for the year and sure to go berzerk against the Roos. But I'm torn on who to toss; Carrazzo, Waters or HShaw?
Carrazzo has been average in recent weeks with his tagging role, has not cracked the ton in 12 weeks!
Waters has also had a fairly lean month barring his 111 but he missed last week and not sure if he'll return this week.
Shaw has been up and down all year and missed games. Recent form not too bad as Pies are hot but his back injury was worked on again during the game last week.

Decisions!

If both Waters and Shaw play this week then get rid of Carrazzo. If any of Waters or Shaw miss trade the one who does out.

Thanks mate. In terms of starting 22, I suppose it's a matter of whether:

A) Watts > Boyd
is better than
B) Watts > Harvey plus Malceski or Rockliff > Waite (or someone)

The advantage of plan B is that I can get Harvey into the team in rd 21 and still have a trade up my sleeve in rd 22 for injury or form concerns.

Of course I could do the Boyd trade sooner so he can play in rd 21, but then I will have no trades going into rd 22. But then again, Boyd has more consistent scoring potential than Harvey........decisions!

I'd lean towards Carrazzo.

Waters will be back - had the flu - so should be right to go

Shaw had a couple of weeks off - and that seems to do wonders for blokes as they freshen up!

Only real dilemmas are my final two upgrades. I'm looking at bringing in 1 more gun mid and 1 more gun forward.

Forward: Harvey v Roo

Mid: Pendles v Montagna v Hayes v Chapman

If I get Chappy in the forwards, I probably cant afford anyone over $400k in the mids, but I suppose I could get him in the midfield. I'm probably leaning towards Roo in the forwards, but not sure in the mids.

Personally I'd go Boyd because he's a gun and just one you've gotta have a I reckon, but B's not a bad option either.
