i cant under stand all this talk about the lack of so called tank and endurance of cameron ranyer what i have seen from him this year and even when he was playing under 16s he certanly does not look any differently than 95% of or the draftees this year i think 1 so expert called mentions it and we all take it as gospel

I've heard he's tanking so North don't pick him.

Dusty will be aware that if he goes he'll never be in a successful team (taking such a big slice of the cap ensures north will never have the required depth), but they're offering so much he may well just figure '**** it' and take the money anyway.

I can't work out if you believe this or are just trying to make yourself feel better. He is leaving probably the least successful established club of the last quarter of a century.

If Kangaroos miss on Martin and Kelly, with Pittard already signed as well, I wonder if they put all their chips in for Motlop.

Feels like they have to get someone this offseason to look like they are doing something. A bit of an upgrade on Lindsey Thomas as well.

I think will go after Hopper if we miss Kelly. More in the optimum target age range for our rebuild. Only reason we are going after Martin at 26 y/o, is because simply he's Dustin Martin. If the best player in the league is up for grabs (and you don't need to give up any players/picks for him), you don't pass that up no matter what age they are.

Yep, no doubt they have to have a big crack at someone. Need to give the fans hope after most likely winning the spoon this year.

Hopper is in high demand and Kangaroos will most likely have to offer significantly higher $$$ than others to get the deal done. Will cost them picks as well.

Motlop will just cost $$$, but it appears he's more interested in going to Port at this stage.

Some incredibly defensive posts from some NM posters - playing the man rather than the issue. Poor form. Can't have a serious debate about whether Dusty is good or bad for NM? Maybe stick the the NM board.

There is no legitimate argument against it though. What is there to debate? It's the best player in the competition without giving up any players or picks.

He's already indicated he wants to be at North?

Not in the slightest. The cart is a bit before the horse with some posters.

Do North supporters really want to pay Dusty 1.5 million a year? It's a big risk at this stage of a rebuild. He's a match winner for sure. But can't see his impact taking effect for a few years with the current list.
I'd understand if it was Kelly at around 1 million a year.

I don't think any player is worth 1.5 million a year...i wouldn't want Carlton giving any player in the league that kind of money.
Not even someone as good as Martin or even Tom Lynch.

Seriously? No legitimate argument against? I've read a few comments from NM supporters who are concerned about it.

North have already been down the path of topping up, from a much stronger base last time, and it didn't work.

Can't wait for Dusty to re-sign. A lot of the comments from North fans are truly disrespectful and show a ridiculous sense of entitlement based on absolutely nothing.

Best of luck in the finals Tigers fans, hope Dusty can lead you guys on a run and then re-commit for the rest of his career :thumbsu:

He is every young Tiger kids idol, now Norf who can't breed their own and actually hate our club want to rip those young Tiger kids hearts out and kick em in the temple on the way down.

Restricted free agency is not about ripping the elite stars from football clubs, that is not in the spirit of the rule.

These stars, the fans have invested in for years, they are part of their heart and soul.

I don't think any player is worth 1.5 million a year...

I agree but we don't know if that is a fact, and if it is I am happy to trust the football department.

The money for Kelly and Martin is not going to stifle North down the track. There are another 5 or 6 veterans hanging up the boots over the next two seasons and this will free up the money to top up other contracts for those that deserve the raise.

$1.5 for 6 years?
