Martin is an absolute gun. If he is willing to come to us I think we should do it in a heartbeat.

People talk about him being dodgy but for all the off field stuff people mention it has never impacted his ability to play football at all and at the end of the day as long as he isnt a full blown Ben Cousins we should be going after guys that can play football at the elite level.

I too would prefer Josh Kelly but as mentioned above - it would take a hell of a trade from us to get that done whereas Martin you might pay overs but we still keep our best players and draft picks
I agree , personally I've always thought he's a twit, but of course I don't know him and the media do him no favors. I'd say that's partly because he isn't particularly media friendly. I can't believe the way the media carried on about him walking out of a press conference when asked about his contract. Was more of a I'm off to training and Williams butting in. He didn't throw a tantrum or anything. Personally reckon he came across as a shy young bloke who is really uncomfortable talking to the media, and that's something Richmond should have tried to support and help him with from day 1.

Playing group were stunned that Boomer (with form on his side) didn't get the nod for 2017....then before Scott and Co rightened the ship it was too late. Remember Scott recently was reported not happy to be singled out with the club when news hit the media outlets that the 4 players were given the heave ho......thats fact. Hard to put a positive spin of the playing group when bambi was shot eh?

Just because it was reported doesn't make it fact. The more informed view is that everyone involved was aware that flak was going to come, and Scott was prepared to be the face of the decision and bear the brunt of the (uninformed) criticism.

Despite the supposed issues you point out above (which can't really be verified), the playing group seems to be committed, unified and enthusiastic. Despite what anyone says, that's the best indication of a coach's relationship with the players.

I was a bit baffled by that comment about Brad being upset with the club

What I recall from it is that he said (I believe in a press conf...and not word for word or anywhere close :)) that he is the face of the club, being the coach and all, and will take the burden even though the decision was done by himself and the club.

The club didnt leave him out to dry either. JB was on the footy show talking about it and defended him and by memory he wasnt the only one.

Realistically I should look it up but I am not going to waste my time on that halfwit Barrett.....I know I am close enough to that truth :)

To be fair he did tell them 3 times he was there to talk about that football they were advertising and they kept asking the same question anyway, don't blame him for walking out.
