Dylan Addison - how'd he go?

Bodicifer,

I watched the game yesterday and Dylan struggled to get a touch. His knee was heavily strapped and he barely had a touch in the first half. He was kept away from the brunt of the midfield and given short bursts on the defensive flanks. He did lay one crunching front on tackle that warmed my heart (Ballarat is frickin cold). Unfortunately, he;d be a liability against Sydney.

Callan Ward on the other hand, now that kid is a dead set jet.

Bring him in Rocket.

Addison is a huge risk, 2009 for him.

Callan Ward has to play v Sydney, he is young but he is smart and courageous.

Yep, I'd bring in Callan Ward before Dylan Addison. Sounds like he is not ready to been thrown in the deep end after a serious injury. Opens the door for Callan Ward on the other hand who I think should surely get a crack in a finals game, if not just for experiance.

If he plays this week, I'll dead set spew up.

We have both Wight and Tiller in the 2's, both are fully fit and we are crying out for a bigger defender.

Addison is not fit and we have his body type covered with Tim Callan. Whilst I agree that he has been fantastic this year and tough at it, he is not what we need this friday.

Agreed. You simply don't play underdone blokes in finals.

I agree

And I think that those who reckon they can judge Tiller's worth as defender in the 14 senior games he has played of which half were probably in attack, need to get a hold of themselves.

Lake and Hargrave were allowed to develop so why not Tiller or Wight?

Thanks comrade...good to hear he at least got through the game but he is obviously a 2009 prospect now for sure.

I'm with you on Wardy, he is going to be a ripper. He has skill and pace but also has a brain and has balance, poise and no fear.:thumbsu:

So why then was he training with the main group today?

He played every game up until his injury so he is considered part of the main group. I suppose if he had two really good weeks at Willi and we won this week and then beat Geelong the week after he may be a GF chance? Also, it would probably put the wind up a few to see him back training and a slim chance of replacing someone who thinks their spot is cemented.

The wind up who?

There are only 2 or 3 guys who will get dropped and there the ones IMO who should be safe.

Heard Aka on SEN tonight, said that the most likely situation was to play Addy another week with Willi, and if he gets through that OK, there's more of a chance they'd bring him in for the Prelim if we get through.
