He was also not one year from FA, he wasn't three years older, and the club didn't need to release salary cap either.

Treloar was a 'promising young player' amongst many not a seasoned established player - plus on a lesser salary offer than what you are offering Shiel. Like you we were in competition with other clubs such as Richmond to land Treloar too.
Comparable is all I'm saying, so two first rounders not out of the question..
The GWS salary cap relief certainly helps granted. But in the past GWS were much more convivial to accept lower trades to bank together as points for their Academy players.
Times are different in the GWS evolution cycle...they are in their window to compete for a flag now.
It will be interesting to see what pans out...there are certainly a wide range of opinions here as to what is acceptable to get the deal done.
Best of luck to the Bombers - we did well shopping at GWS and you look like you have been able to do the same.
Picks are just "magic beans" in any case...at least with Shiel you know what you are getting.
