The fact that ridiculous proposal was worthy of a response?
Haha touche.

But to be fair it is a discussion board, and I've seen the Ceglar is actually a gun thing come up again and again in various contexts.

Ultimately of course, if Shiel picks Hawthorn it might not ultimately matter as they usually get the trade done, say what you will

Ah the Ceglar legend again. The guy who keeps getting better the more he doesn't play.

How exactly do you conclude he's a "VERY good tap ruckman"? I'm genuinely curious.

This year and the last year he played, 2016, he averages under 22 hitouts per game.

To compare against the very good tap ruckman of the game, Gawn averaged 46 this year, 36 last year and 42 the year before.

Brodie Grundy averaged 39 this year and 36 last year.

Now, of course they are AA and the very best, but even guys like Matthew Lobbe (35 this year, 29 last year) and Tom Bellchambers (33 this year, 33 last year) have it all over him in raw numbers.

I won't even get into an analysis of the other relevant stats as he gets roundly beaten by all those guys bar Lobbe on disposals, marks clearances etc.

As far as I can make out, Ceglar has never really had a great year, perhaps one goodish year, and the rest that any rational observer would call solidly average at best.

What he does have going for him is he is probably in his prime as far as age goes, but then it's not like he's taking the comp by storm.

Maybe GWS would like a ruck but I can't see them falling over themselves to give up a very good mid for Ceglar + steak knives.

What am I missing?
I watch him play. Dont rate your opinion you have been proven wrong on to many occasions.

Move on.

I didnt make a proposal. So what proposal are you referring to?

Im curious to see if it is even possible for hawks to land shiel. Im not sure we can.

Dont lump yourself with lance mate.

If Hawthorn dropped the 15 & 33/Ceglar deal in front of you, wouldn't you just walk away and double down next year?

Watch this space.

Hawthorn seem to be looking to make space for a player.

Lynch, Shiel or maybe even Gaff is my bet.

It’s Stephen Coniglio.

I have absolutely no idea if Coniglio will even entertain leaving GWS. Just hopeful on my part.

Dylan Shiel is not worth more than what Hawthorn paid for Mitchell which was pick 14. And Mitchell is a better player.
If that's what you think.

Cannot see the Giants accepting anything less than 2 1st rounders for a contracted star.

I'd say you're missing the fact that Adrian is going to miss out & come second to Hawthorn on Shiel.

It's Jaeger-miester all over again.

The Mitchell trade was a completely different set of circumstances.

If 14 gets you an uncontracted player, then 5 gets you a contracted player of a similar calibre.

There's also no strong proof that there is any impending cap squeeze at GWS, whereas that was certainly the case at Sydney.

2 mill over the cap this time next year with Coniglio and Kelly chasing a big pay day is what is being reported.

Mathews and his team have designed this to win a flag in 2016, 2017 and or 2018.

I am suggesting you may not have many options and one or two will be squeezed out or for sure. Will be interesting to watch which ones the Giants rate and which ones they will let go and for how much.

2mil? Really? Well I guess you did think Kelly was a free agent. Sooo....

I have no doubt, as said before, we may lose some.

But taking unders for Shiel wont be happening.

Awwww you like playing the man do you?

I won’t get into that but just reporting what’s in the media down here and to cut a long story short after this year you guys are cooked salary cap wise. As it stands 2 million without any changes.

Which two do you think will be out by the end of next season?

Cogs, Shiel or Kelly?

Any chance you could post these media reports?

I haven't seen them yet.

Not at all.

Pointing out the other incorrect "facts" you've posted not 30 mins before hand is not playing the man.

What reports? Barrett's little wet pants effort?
You also know that Griff, Lids and Shaw are all players that probably wont be around if we have to choose dont you?

We could lose none, 1, 2 or all 3.

You are about to start a Finals series. You simply cannot say anything else at this stage if you are Dylan, his management or The Giants.

You may be correct. He may stay for his final year if a trade can’t be worked out but I don’t think so.

Greene on 1 Mill per year
Cameron on 1 Mill per year
Coniglio free agent next year
Shiel free agent next year
Kelly free agent next year

One of these blokes and possibly two will be squeezed out.

No chance in the world that you will start a season with Kelly Shiel and Coniglio all coming out of contract and all will be asking big $$$$
Whole lot of guessing there, and a definitive conclusion. That never works

Coniglio and Kelly are contracted and they signed last year. Makes no sense

You obviously have the internet so feel free to look it up and have a read.

So which club is Dylan going too? 24hrs ago it was done deal Essendon now it's done deal Hawthorne, when is North throwing their hat in the ring?

I know you're being facetious, but I'll answer you with a straight bat anyhow.

North have never been in the conversation here, it's Carlton who are the other side in the bidding ring.
