Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

Especially considering he can't string a good game together for the life of him... Nice in total points leagues but would hardly put him in as anything as a bye week player half the time.

And he is 30, this injury could very well end his career virtually.

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

Is he worth the bother is the point i guess, especially with DeSean Jackson there to be the new "kevin curtis".
given the 3 IR spots it has to be an emphatic yes for mine, i can understand you not wanting him but surely most others in the league would be happy for him to occupy an IR spot, the only reason you wouldnt give him an IR spot is if you had Steve Smith, Brandon Marshall and Osi Umenyiora in the 3 spots!

He is the number 1 guy for sure when healthy, DeSean Jackson is still only the number 3 i have read, Baskett will be the starter opposite Brown, obviously Jackson will be utilised a lot, lots of 3 WR sets id say, but Curtis was 11th WR in fantasy last year, that alone makes him worth a spot

11th because he would occasionally have a HUGE game ala 55 points, 33 points, 27, 24 points...

Half his game he scored less than 10 or slightly above... Would hardly be a player I would like to rely on for split games.

I agree on him, actually made a concious effort not to go near him in drafts, overrated for sure, eg he was taken in round 7 in this league, BUT as your 8th WR, or on the IR spot he is definitely worth it

I mean look at most teams 8th WR, he is a better option then Darrell Jackson who i dropped for him, you have a spare IR spot, surely he is worth enough to put him there rather then it sitting empty?

on that stat of half his games he scored less than 10 or slightly above, Roddy White scored less then 12.2 9 times last year, does that mean you dont rate him?

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

Your team Zarko is not as bad as you make it out to appear.
of course it isnt, he is just trying to remove any expectation whatsoever, therefore anything is above expectations

Warner, Barber, Graham, Maroney, McGahee, Boldin, White, Cooley, that is a solid group of offensive players, purely in an offensive seasonal league that would be competitive

Stewart Bradley i think is a breakout player, Williams is a stud, Kiwi should be decent enough, Rivers could be very good

certainly no where near the worst team

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

Curtis is hardly a guy who's gonna win you the title.

In saying that, its a shame I'm never online when Waivers go through to FA's. Dspeed seems always to get them...

Too many ifs and buts to expect too much... Barber is as solid as it gets... Thank God I traded out Gore :p

Warner has Leinart behind him and the coach WANTS Leinart in. Though he was huge second half of the year, only behind Brady scoring wise.
Graham is the starter but some big names behind him
Maroney is injury prone and has Belichick behind him (I drafted him because if he was healthy and given a tonne of time he would put up top 12 numbers, ala end of last year)
McGahee... Surgery let Rice in and Rice will do enough to stay there for a alot of reps IMHO.

Just think my offense is a long time waiting...

I expect 4 wins maybe...

Yeah I am normally on but I was complacent on the weekend and missed out replacing Obomanu (Clavicle) for Taylor :(

Damn you D :p

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

WR for me.
Umming and ahhing over a few choices due uncertainty about their status.

Eg...Robinson not starting but not slot. Morgan now not starting, but could be used often and special teams. Kent should see a lot of action in spread offense but you never know. Royal up against powerful Raiders DBs but should get kick return action as well. Bess slot role but miami's passing game an uncertain thing to trust yet. Stuff like that.

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

WR... Seeing as Brown and Curtis are injured I picked up Baskett but I reckon they will feed Desean the ball often.

Then the question about McGahee... Reckon he will play but how much time?

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

I still think McGahee is the every down back in 2008. Rice will come on to spell. It's Rice's job eventually, but for now they'll start and overwork the vet. Just like in Houston how they have Ahman Green (despite all his injuries etc) still slated to start and carry the ball heavily whilever he's healthy.

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

WR/OP is doing my head in. Trying to choose my 2nd and possibly 3rd WR between DJ Hackett (will be No 1 WR with S Smith out but no preseason) Santana Moss (could do well against Giants DBs but can aging Skins OL hold up?), Bryant Johnson No 2 in Martyball O but again is he fully fit? TJ Housh (fitness?). Kevin Walter has had a very good preseason. Or do I use one in the OP spot or go with a 2nd TE (Clark or Witten).

Also one of the DB spots. McKelvin looks like he'll start as No 4 or 5 CB, Ed Reed looks like he might miss. Leon Hall, Hayden or Pacman??!!!

Yeah I agree but still a toss up as to whether he is healthy this week.

Re: Alpha Dynasty - DISCUSSION - Part 2

My side is pretty settled

Having Owens, Wayne and Colston helps out at WR, 3 reasonable QBs mean that the OP also not an issue, 3 gun LBs

Only real ones i am looking at are:

Julius Jones or Leon Washington as the RB2, leaning towards Washington until i see how the Seattle RBBC sorts it self out

And a rather trivial decision, Phil Dawson or Kris Brown as the kicker, leaning towards Dawson
