Yep I saw the incident. Free kick right at there interchange bench. Coach picks up ball and refuses to give it back, ball is knocked away and then he throws a punch into the guts of the player. Absolute disgrace. He should walk away from the game. Sooner the better.

No wonder Fletcher is moving on from the Jags
Even they won’t accept a coach having a physical altercation with a player that has only played two games and is 17!!!
An absolute disgrace.....
He should never coach again

Not a good look. With two games left he should walk away now. The Jags surely have someone that could step up just for two games.

The worlds worst kept secret revealed.

CRAIGIEBURN premiership coach Peter Bugden will stand down at season’s end after five years at the helm of the Essendon District Football League club.

The experienced mentor steered the Eagles to the Division 1 flag in 2016 after they finished runner-up the previous year.

No, umpires said they didn’t see it. The ball is in Tullamarine’s court. I don’t know if they will take it further. I wouldn’t considering they have finals on the horizon and the EDFL are a rabble anyway.

Tulla will need to fork out $$ for any investigation and unless they have video of the incident the league will do stuff all. In my opinion this league has lost there way somewhat and reluctant to deal with many issues from juniors to seniors. It’s a joke really. They need to stand up and take charge..

So with 2 rounds to go Tullamarine and APW have the top 2 locked away.
Who is the unlucky club out of Craigieburn, Taylor's Lakes & Hillside to miss the 4 ?

Surely the field or boundary umpire must have been in the area if the ball was there. Why didn’t they see it. What I’m hearing are umpires are now reluctant to report incidents as it’s a total waste of time as the league doesn’t support them. So why waste your energy and time so just ignore it..

I’m not sure why all senior football in this comp is not recorded. NFL record all games and think the Riddell do the same as seen an incident they posted regarded an official trying to kick/trip an opposition player.

Support the umpires EDFL and stand up for the sport..

Hillside guaranteed to play finals unless they lose to jacana... If Taylor’s lakes beat Tulla next week it all comes down to the winner of TL and Craigieburn in the last round...

That’s terribly concerning if the umpiring fraternity feel that way, any wonder numbers continue to dwindle ... that and the constant hammering they cop on pages like this.

Sometimes they are blatantly bias as seen by some of the free kick counts I have taken over the years and in those cases they deserve a roasting. On other occasions they deserve a wrap, just like the umps that did the Abers v Douttas game on Saturday.

Also only 2 umpires in div 1 so they don’t capture everything like if they had 3 umpires. Maybe div1 should have 3 umpires and div2 just have representatives from both clubs. :)

Taylors Lakes to miss.

Will be a real interesting finals series this year with no clear favourite.

APW have the most fire power up forward so they would have to be slight favourites. Tulla, Craigieburn, Hillside dont have as many potent fwds and will need to have a good defence to be able to stop them.

With some big scores kicked over the weekend by the top teams (APW - 178, Tulla - 166, Cra - 132)

I would've said Tulla have the best chance in stopping APW fwds but then they did just let Jacana kick 11 goals (Cloke 6) on them this week. APW had (Penaluna 5, Godden 5, Gentile 5) with plenty of dangerous options to goal that will be even harder to stop.

You can't do that can you imagine how many fights and disagreements there would be. It's not under 9's. At least need independent umpires. Pay a bit more and you may have more people even in their 30's, or 40's start doing it.

I am surprised Gentile is not an automatic selection at the Cannons. Mind you some of the people the do and don't choose never seems to surprise me

Have to agree on Lakes missing. But what a terrific season they have had after everyone wrote them off in the pre season

Have to disagree on everything else though.
I would argue that Tullamarine , Hillside and Craigieburn are every bit if not more potent up forward than APW.

Tullamarine - Allen and Pretty both in top 5-6 in the goal kicking and always have multiple goal kickers. 25 goals on weekend with 12 goal kickers and 5 guys that kicked 3. Probably the most even accross the group.

Craigieburn - Limbach has 70 odd goals and is clearly the best in the Comp. match winner that could be the difference on the big stage as Winter was last year. Add Roberton, Smith, Tuckey and their small quick kids etc

Hillside - multiple options in Church, Patane, Raff , Volpato and even Sinclair. And if Colleta gets back

APW - absolutely have fire power but no more than the other sides.

Also wouldn't read too much into jacana kicking 11 goals and Cloke kicking 6 against Tulla. They rested a heap on the weekend including Laurie. They did hold APW to a handful of goals earlier in the year

that might because Steele and Laurie were rested...

I’d say the 7 changes at Tulla had some influence on the games in relation to what Jacana scored. Wouldn’t read anything into that match.

Yes agree so kick these clubs out of our league that just want to fight and abuse umpires, players, spectators etc. Get rid of a few clubs and tidy up this league..
