The cburn player was convulsing on the ground and was concussed and spent the night in hospital CT scan, and the player fromTulla was offered 2 weeks and declined opted for the tribunal
How seriously hurt was the other player? To me that also determines the penalty.

4 weeks plzzz??? EDFL Kangaroo Court strikes again

The most important thing we should be asking here is how is the player? Hopefully he is ok and fully recovered, as he showed a lot of courage taking that mark.

It didn’t look over aggressive but the impact must have been severe and it was late and no need for it. Not sure it’s 4 weeks worth..Player didn’t get sent off nor was there any remonstrating once play resumed.

Bit of a shambles with multiple people seemingly on the ground. Understand the concerns and by all means it appears to be the parents, so we all understand there concern. Then the guy (who appears to be the parent) was exchanging words with the Tulla player. Not sure that’s a good look for our league but emotions were high.

What’s with all the spectator abuse towards players other than the one who did the act. Thats not a good look in my opinion.

Anyway hope the CB player is well with no long term effects.

The player he was having words with was Jack Kennedy who was complaining about the crowd abuse.
I thought the guy assuming he was the father was very restrained. His only worries were for his son. It was also good to see an EDFL board member out on the ground with the parents making sure everything was ok.

There were far too many people on the ground. And the father or whoever it was should not be on the ground, for the exact reason that his emotions may take over.

Only people that should have been on the ground where the trainers and a doctor.

The Tullamarine player was yellow carded and sent off the ground

Why wasn't the Tulla player red carded? He was obviously reported on the day so a red card should have been issued?
Agree that the welfare of the CB player is paramount here and all that matters but i also believe that if the Tulla player was reported for that instance a red card has to be issued...

Incorrect

A yellow is a report. Yellow card is 15 mins and automatic 2 weeks.

A red is off for rest of game and straight to the tribunal

I have the nfl closely and keep an interest in the edfl
That’s the first I have heard that a yellow card warrants a report

I have no issue at all with the four weeks. Hit was late and therefore deliberate.
I also hope the player has recovered.

The player was reported and sent off
He was offered 2weeks from umpires and decided not to accept the 2weeks and went to tribunal

What a bloody game.

Didn't see the halftime margin, the 3/4 time margin or the final margin coming. Well done Tulla on making some great tactical changes when looking beaten and well done to AW on making the changes to halt Tulla's run.

BOG was a great call despite a slow 3rd 1/4 by Bior Malual.

What a great comeback by Tulla and cracking game. Airport West spread from stoppages was too much for Tulla in the first half. Credit for Tulla for the way they hunted the ball in that 3rd quarter. Young player for Airport West who got best on ground was very exciting to watch. Thought the umpiring in the first half were way too involved and Tulla will rue their ill disclipine all summer

Congratulations to Airport West, better team over the 4qtrs. Deserved to go in favorite and got the job done, I wish them all the best in Premier next year.

That 3rd Qtr by tulla had to be the best qtr of local footy I’ve ever seen, great work by them to get out of a hole most teams wouldn’t of, and if not the missed chances in the last who knows.... but still lots to take away from this year and come back in 2019 bigger & better.

What a game, it was one of three different stages. The first half dominated by APW, the 3/4 by the most dominant quarter of football I have ever seen, then the last quarter was an arm wrestle.
Congratulations to APW and their coaching staff. They have a young side and need to recruit some good talented big blokes. Not having a ruckman almost cost them the game. BOG was well deserved, he was easily pushed off the ball early but he hung in and had a great game. 8, 18, 1 and 7 all solid. 17 and 36 great first half.

That is not taking anything away from the talent they have already but even they would think the need to go and get about seven to ten dedicated people. Ruck and mids certainly and a couple down back. They have got some really good leg speed so they can move the ball quickly.

For Tulla, they started to cramp up 15 mins from the end and I think that was the telling factor. For them I thought number 10 and 25 had great games. Number 6 had some good touches but really, what a goose. He was more interested in whacking people at stages throughout the game. It was their ruckman that got them back into the game so for me he was their best on the day.

Maddern and his offsiders got the club to where they are now. How will they feel the first time they play EDS next year as all three are long time servants of that club. How will EDS feel knowing they let these three go, unable to find coaching positions for them or not wanting to?
