Hillside u/19 made the finals in 2019 , got beat in 1st SemiIt will be interesting to see. Last year Hillside under 18s played in premier league and just missed finals. I can’t remember that happening before. It’s a great challenge and think it’s a great idea.
They have one of the better junior programs around. All things being equal they’ll be in premier with 3 years.
totally agree with you now more than ever a good junior program will be so important .Clubs will have to make sure that they focus on development of the juniors as well so they have a steady flow of players that can and want to play senior football for the their club
Doona how right you are about the parents most kid would love the idea of someone helping them improve but the ugly parents living vicariously through their kids can put a stop to that quick smart some times little johnny or little jenny are not as good as the parents thinkThat is subjective and opinion based, and to be fair it hasn't been as strong a junior comp of late.
I now wonder if the Rupo families who were planning to head to EDFL clubs had 2020 got going will now reverse and stay with Rupo?
Hope the parents are onboard with this bit ha ha!!! Development at the expense of winning not always the focus at some joints
totally agree but its ridiculous when a couple of the bigger clubs put up to 3 teams in a junior grade and others struggle to get one. Surely there needs to be a limit to encourage kids to try and go elsewhere and speaking from experience kids very quickly learn to like any new team and its members. Ability is not really an issue when we get told that Clubs need to be inclusive. That concept runs riot through level 1 coaching courses.Doona how right you are about the parents most kid would love the idea of someone helping them improve but the ugly parents living vicariously through their kids can put a stop to that quick smart some times little johnny or little jenny are not as good as the parents think
Big Tommy, actually spent his first ever season of footy with us when I was coaching back home a decade or so ago.Mason Cox to Roxy

Not sure if previously mentioned great pick-up for APW with a favourite son's son returning after signing with a Premier club but didn't play a game due to covid. APW going along nicely thank you.Had a similar chat with a club president in our region only a week ago.
The illusion of club, rep footy into pathways isn’t explained correctly back to local clubs, or if it is the parents and kids aren’t informed.
The amount that feel an interleague jumper is automatically deserved of other opportunities (without a genuine understanding) must make for tough car rides to and from for our kids .... not to mention conversations over the dinner table at home.
Comparing apples and oranges a lot of the time

A loss but they had more than enough talent in the same positions (and body type) he plays to cover for this. That’s a great pick up EdS will be spewing
Probably reduced his payments from original offer due to reduced salary cap so could have swayed his decision to return to his home club. How is there a small difference between caps in all divisions. Doesn’t sit well with me that premier clubs got there cap reduced by 50%.A loss but they had more than enough talent in the same positions (and body type) he plays to cover for this.
100% reason for the decision.. Doutta's offered him well overs, too good to refuse. Enter new Cap, cut offer in half and made his decision easy to return to his home club as he's getting same payment as he would at Doutta's. Only reason he went to Doutta's was for $$$$$$... Be good to see this more , juniors playing seniors at their club and not being poached by clubs because of $$$$Probably reduced his payments from original offer due to reduced salary cap so could have swayed his decision to return to his home club. Most intrigued to read article from Rupo president suggesting that they have retained all the premiership squad but they will be happy just to make finals. He then says that they need to recruit a couple of players to toughen them up. Cant believe a president would describe his own team as needing toughness and a squad which will be happy just to make finals. Exuding confidence hey. Think he might be in for a shock.
finally bash we agree on somethingThe quality of the league rupo is coming from is actually terrible. Teams get belted by 300+ points.
They will be lucky to make finals with their current squad in my honest opinion. They will finish 5th-6th

EDFL have just given EK a free kick. All players signed before june 26 2020, get a point deducted if the play at the same club in 2021.
