Nope, said would suck seeing him dominate his old club, and you misread it back then. Go back and find it mate.

I’ll buy you a beer at EK v Hs next game if I’m wrong

One other thing I notice is why do supporters gather behind the goals? This spells trouble as it’s for the purpose of being close to the opposition full back / full forward. They are away from the majority of the crowd who usually gather on the wings/ flanks.
Would love to see a player who is being abused jump the fence and belt one but then they will get suspended.

I recall watching Strathmore v Pacco and the SM reserves players were giving it to a Pacco player for no reason. He was a big unit and went over and approached them and they 💩 there pants. He said let’s meet and end of game. They were gone by then. 😄
Remember there is no fence on the other side. I was standing right next to them and I warned them to be careful as the big fella can go! They didn’t listen.
But the abuse was nothing like what you witnessed by the sounds of it.

What have I got to do with this BJ.

However I will add the following:
- Sunbury Kangaroos commitee are very good people who always come in for a beer. Remember them supporting Jacana when they played them back in 2018 I think it was. Never watched a senior game out there but if what Bash is saying is true that’s ordinary. Having said that EK are using beating there drum that they are a tough group (most recruits have tattoos 😄) so why didn’t they give it back?? Did they do something provoke them?

-I agree the EK group on the hill get out of control and are not told to behave so glass houses.

I think club presidents should meet up prior to each game and have a meal and a beer together. A general chat and if something like what’s reported occurs they contact each other and go and sort it out. However what if they are not members of the club. It’s public land so it’s a difficult one..

Now I will say on Friday night I witnessed the worse crowd behavoir I’ve ever seen and it was Aberfeldie. Total disgrace that club.
More to follow on this.
Wasn't a shot TM, merely a throwaway comment.
You're both incredibly passionate about the clubs that you're affiliated with which is not a bad thing.

I do know some quality people involved at Abers and I know that they wouldn't be impressed with the behaviours that you've acknowledged on here, hopefully this is the exception rather than the rule but it's ultimately a reminder that a strong club culture is something that can always be worked upon whether you're a big club or a smaller one.

drunk young numb nuts in a group like at Sunbury are a problem for all clubs when one starts the filth it eggs on the rest and if you went to the group you would most likely find u19 and reserve players .we all know where they stand at home games so club can do something about it .If the trash gets to a personal stage where they are threatering physical harm to players or their families the police should be called as this would not be tolerated in the street so why should we have to accept it at a local footy Game

Hey mate, i did overhear someone mention that the Abers junior president was with the group drinking alcohol. I wouldn’t know he is but if true just another example of poor leadership. To see young kids navigate through drunken adults is disgusting.

It happens at a local of games of local footy where there is no restrictions on who can enter. Lots bring there own grog as well. EDFL, NFNL, WRFL all grounds with no fences. Does this encourage them? I hear your point though as bad behaviour is unacceptable

I totally agree with you but in this day and age of political correctness the public will no longer turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to the drunken morons yelling abuse. Some how the clubs are going to have to stamp it out or it has the potential to go viral and cost the club sponsors. We all know the EDFL has no will or back bone to step up and deal with this issue so it going to land fairly and squarely at club land

Tbh I think these issues at senior games should be the responsibility of the clubs. Surely club presidents/committee can sort it out. Yes it’s not easy however as I’ve stated previously some clubs choose to ignore it and others encourage it. Make a stand and make your club a better place and encourage families and kids to come along. Unfortunately it’s been happening far to long. WRFL used to be bad ( not sure how that comp is nowadays) but EDFL heading that way as well. It will deter family and players from coming into the league if you need to hear this type of gutless behaviour.
They wouldn’t have the courage to confront players one out. And of all players to give it to why Dion Hill as his a fair ball player who plays hard but fair. Did they said anything to Stewart, Bongetti etc. Probably not 👊

Precisely right Turbo. I’m no prude, and going to local footy you encounter, and expect to hear the odd bit of colourful language and sledging of opposition players. However there is absolutely no excuse, and there should be zero tolerance for the protracted, abusive and threatening behaviour by a large group of spectators as relayed by Bashen. I don’t care who’s supporter group they belong to.

Those attempting to deflect and muddy the waters by saying, “you’re gutless for not confronting them”, “you’re gutless for not reporting them to club officials”, or “ what about your own supporters?” are way off the mark. Neither players, nor well behaved supporters, including children should have to endure what was apparently dished up on Saturday.

It’s now on social media however it says the Sunbury Kangaroos weren’t informed till Saturday night. So my point is why is there conversation between presidents once it started to become an issue on game day.

By Saturday “night” they mean after the game mate. Games finish at 5pm. I saw their president having a chat to ek officials after the whistle.

Can safely assume they were discussing that topic.

100 % correct we as a competition want to create an environment of exclusiveness for all be it women children men or women to come to our games feel safe and enjoy a good game of footy and support our clubs .This type of behavior needs to be brought to the clubs attention immediately that it is happening and the club officials need to put a stop to it and if they cannot then get the police involved and move theses brain dead Cretans on. If they are players deal with them when they are not in the group and full of piss and vinegar

My point is was it raised with the president of SK once it started as you would then hope he would go and address the issue there and then. Yes understand volunteers especially presidents are very busy but this should be addressed on the spot not let it get out of hand. So I would be interested to know when SK were notified of the issue??? If it was post game well I can’t blame the SK commitee then.

Some interesting pictures on APW Facebook page in regards to the dust up against Roxy. Anyone elaborate on it? What started it and it seemed to go for a while and looked pretty ugly going by the pictures.

My point exactly why raise it on here and not at the time to catch them out. no point after they have all gone home. As mentioned earlier we only have one runners version.

Fair point, However if the president was watching the game which he clearly was. It was very obvious what was going on as it was not subtle at all and umpires had also approached them. Take some initiative if you are a president, and go talk to your reserve players. He clearly could see what was going on. Should not require someone complaining when it was blatantly obvious what was going on. Be proactive with your supporters as a president not reactive based on feed back from people. Was too obvious and vulgar to have to wait for complaints.

Ive seen Geoff Nicholl tell people off for far less at Overland Reserve down in the pocket (believe that if you want, im sure some bananas will rubbish that comment, but i dont really care).

Hey Bash, he might not have heard it as usually volunteers are pretty busy game days especially if your playing at home. Not defending him just saying!
EK supporters can get rowdy as well mate. I’m sure all clubs have them. TBH I’m not in favour of large groups isolating to one part of the ground drinking heavily. It’s the reason they go to a far spot so they can obviously yell abuse and not be heard by club members. Pretty sad really. I’m sure if someone approached them they most likely deny it like most weak minded people.
Why don’t they stand in smaller groups and drink from the bar. It’s then more controlled plus helping the club make some coin.

Well said . Its usually the loud mouths that " support " the clubs are the ones that bring their own grog and dont spend a cent over the bar at the club they " support " It happens everywhere unfortunately and if they were approached guarantee everything would be denied. Weak!!

Fair, anyway over this topic wasted enough of time talking about these scum bags.

Any game reviews. Rupo seemed to have pushed tulla. Impressive, anyone head down to that game?

Hillside with the huge result, Bailey Ryan is going to be a freak!

Grabowski, Micallef and Stewart had a field day at Sunbury. Stewart is insanely impressive for his second game in 18 months. No ruckman in this Comp will phase him, he retired Sutherland to the forward line after a quarter haha.
