All happening down at rupo. Three year deal for fox is a big show of faith. Watched a couple games of rupo this season and they were exciting to watch, shame for them having lost some key players.

seems crazy to get 3 years straight up after being stopped short this year at Gisborne. Might be tough with so many players out no matter who you have coaching.Rupo cant pay over the cap is the issue, EDFL watching them very closely after cheating in 2022. Pat will not clear him, unless they pay up huge $$$ for him. StA really recruiting for a flag, more to be announced.has to be cleared 1st, maybe Pat will decline due to the rule around St.A recruiting from Edfl. I know he cleared Victor but he could be pissed with this one.

Rupo went slightly over by a miscalculation and owned up to that. They pay every player properly AND tax players which most clubs do not.
Deer Park people at the beginning of the year openly gloating how they “pay players with TAB vouchers” coz they can’t be caught etc is the real cheating.
The amount some other clubs pay over in cash is absurd.
Also, stop making up complete shit. The coach didn’t leave due to payments lol. I think you’ll find there was people at the club trying to drag back Brad Fox to the club, not the coach wanting to bail. Hence the 3yr deal.
Rupo got done because they paid for registration for all contracted players and never declared it in salary cap.

Why would they tax players?? Could be a big win for players if they do. They can claim lots of things that are football related (gym, boots, runners, training gear, not to mention all the functions they have to pay for) could possible come out with a big tax return in June.

Nope, you can’t claim stuff all. I played VFL for a while and it does not work out good at tax time haha. You get stuff all back at all. Training gear, runners etc do not count, nor do functions even if compulsory etc etc. sucks really. I even attempted to claim private health cover back haha.
I think you will find your incorrect Mr.accountant...its a leisure sport not a commercial entity..the clubs are not companies they are a non taxable entity . Therefore no players other than vfl and afl players are taxed..not one rupo player would be taxed and all local players pay a rego fee it comes out.of player payments..non profitYou’re suppose to be taxed at local level too if paid bud by rights. Have to agree with stars alive , I have never seen a tax statement for Local footy based on clubs registered as not for profit.
If Rupo tax you not sure what they are doing there.
I have checked with tax office few years back on rules and can confirm match payments are 100% not taxed.

Well you need a better accountant. When I played vfl and paid taxed I got to claim all that and more. Even travel to and from all training and games. (Had a log book and all) pretty much got all my tax back. As it was second income it helped me get about $6-7k back at tax time.
But the rules state you don’t pay tax as it’s classified as a hobby (but if you go over a certain amount of $$$, then it starts become and income not just a hobby, not sure what that figure is)
