Have rupo taken a risk with getting Galea? Is he to old? Turns 47 in June! Only played 3 quarters out of 4 practice matches aswell!

Wait till the full backs get to man up on 6ft 6inch Todd Elton... Tough year for full backs in Div 1

I’ve watched a couple of times. Still strong hands and a great kick for goal. Only criticism is he tries to convince the umpires for free kicks. Nah I still say he kicks plenty.

Covelli is more fun to watch and a star. Would like to see him play higher as think he would still go well, but hey his great in div1.

You can’t compare Galea to covelli
Covelli hasn’t played in any good comps
I seen galea play a couple games last year
Was outstanding against Abers kicked 4 or 5 could of easily kicked 8

im not comparing, just where they are at in their careers. Covelli will kick more goals this year than Galea though.
In the last couple of seasons Galea has got the 2nd and sometimes the 3rd best back, yeah he is coming back a division but he will get the number 1 defender each week and he is a little older, and once you get to his age each year feels like 5... and his body hasnt been kind to him in the last 5 or so years. So dont expect too much, but he will add valuable leadership on the ground, if he has time when not giving the umps a mouthful on how to umpire....

Yeah but other than Deer Parks fullback Quick there isn’t a lot of good defenders in div1. So he just might kick a few big bags this season.
Even when he was playing premier he usually demanded one of the better defenders.
Bit like when Patty Rose dropped to div1 he was pretty dominant but if your disagreeing with umpires in premier then it will only be worse in div1 with defenders grabbing you all the time. Hopefully Galea can keep his composure in this division.

Rupos young forwards are going to get an education this year with Galea that will set the club up well into the future .I think his worth to the team will be more that just the goals he kick each week

I haven't seen him play yet, but I do believe he was crook too. Bringing experience to a young group can only be a good thing. One of Rupo's biggest problems has been their accuracy in front of goals, so hopefully, he fixes this up too.

Tulla playing home games at Jacana this season due to building delays on clubrooms.

Don't want to make more of it than it actually is (just a temporary arrangement with perhaps some financials going both ways), but could Tulla link with Jacana in some sort of consolidated partnership (via either merger or takeover) in the future on the back of this?

They look really young too which is great for the club. That said, the old brigade of Fynch, Laffan, and Gorgievski was very good. Aquilina and the young red-headed kid whose name escapes me were too.

The influence of Jake Carlisle was clear as day. I hope umpires, who let a lot go against him, are as forgiving when he gives some back.

Enjoyable game in front of an excellent crowd.

I thought Elliot really got around the ground well. Moves so well for a big bloke. Farrelly was good and Short had some good moments too. Ultimately I thought they just didn't take their chances well enough. Running into an open goal and missing was very poor.

I wasn't at the game today (Craigieburn v Roxy) but I heard there was a few ugly scenes between some of the supporters and some Craigieburn players. Anyone there able to shed some light?

I hope Jake Carlisle plays well all year as he will be great for the entire div 1 comp. Also hope Sammy Laffan played well and hope he is settling back in at Craigieburn.
