Not really sure, was Collingwood VFL too. He would have to be pretty good you would think, they have a strong list on paper albeit very old. Tulla has gone chips in for the next couple of years by the looks of it, going to be a few disappointed club with hefty player payment pressure in 9 months time, can’t all win it

How does Bendigo line up against Div.1 EDFL ? Much stronger ?

I'm no expert in either comp but at a guess, the stronger Bendigo sides would beat the EDFL Div 1 sides and be competitive with the mid-lower table Prem sides.

Seems harsh. Have you seen him play ? Or just a throwaway comment because of your dislike of Tulla ? He did play 5 games of AFL, and 80 VFL games. The biggest concern would be how much does he actually play these days ? Only 2-3 games last season, 1 for Bacc Marsh. He got a large sign on, so they would want him out there at least 14-15 times you would think

What are everyone’s thoughts on Rupo officially requesting to do be dropped to div 2? Such a shame, it tells us just how bad the situation at Rupo is, much worse than we may have already been thinking. The EDFL wont be happy having to deal with this issue a couple months out from the season with fixtures already out. I would be shocked if the league granted them there wish of dropping down. Other clubs in similar situations in the past have had to suck it up. IMO i think its now clear Rupo will find themselves relegated and in Div 2 in 2025 (or back in rdfl) but for this year they just have to dig deep, do there very best to keep putting teams out on the park and hopefully there is still enough good people around the place to get them through what will no doubt be a horrible year, and probably couple of years. Clearly something has gone drastically wrong at the club and unfortunately they need to lay in the bed they have made. The only plus to allowing them down would be getting rid of the awkward 11 team div 1 comp, but im still not sure the league will consider it. Let’s hope they can get 2 sides on the park but im hearing that looks a mile off. Can anyone from Rupo fill us in on how numbers are looking? Think the odds of them requesting a move back to the rdfl at this seasons end are getting better by the day.

They would need to do some patching up before the RDFL would accept them back. You won’t hear a lot of sympathy towards them from the Riddell clubs!

I’d think Div 1 clubs would be happy for them to drop, 10 teams, 18 rounds no byes.
Div 2 not so sure, they couldn’t possibly be a flag chance but maybe finals chance could be why they wouldn’t want it.

Only one issue with the 18 rounds. Clubs have known for 3 months that it will be a 16rd season and have budgeted accordingly. Adding an extra 2 rounds so late will take some adjustments and conversation.
Bad luck for rupo. Bed…. Lie in it etc etc.
same thing happened to Westy and Glenroy to a lesser extent in 2023.

And they'd get destroyed by the top end teams in RDFL. But give it time both Rupo and the Kangaroos will be back there anyway.

A rumour like this comes up much like the Australia Day debate every year in at least 1 league, and nothing ever comes of it. Unless they go into total recess like a few D2 clubs have in the recent past this rumour should be consigned to the bin permanently.
Jesus Dent settle down a bit. Was just asking what everyone’s opinions were having been very reliably told from a number of people that they had indeed made that request. You know being a local footy forum and all? But for what it’s worth i most certainly hope it is false news mate and wish Rupo all the best. Nobody likes seeing a club struggle, especially after such a strong couple of years in a new comp.

Why should anyone care how a Rupo person might react ? Almost every opinion on here is going to attract a retort. Make ya bed, you lay in it
Why not let the clubs choose each year, what division they want to play, makes it easier for clubs who miss relegation but have a number of outs drop a division. Or if you get 10+ quality signings, why can't you go into premier league from div 1? Even if you finished mid year. Maybe there needs to be a tribunal set up if clubs wish to go up or down outside relegation or going up automatically as well, that way you get more even divisions, have your divisions sorted by December then you still have time to do draws by Christmas. Rupo would have known by late November they'd lost a shit load of players
Not asking you to care. Just asking you to stop spreading stuff which is totally incorrect. They HAVE NOT made a request to play Division 2.
