Final Ladder Prediction:

1 - Coburg - Have retained most of there players and only added more depth. Surely have to take the flag this year
2 - ES - Have recruited heavily and not lost any young guns. Big improvers of 2018
3 - NS - Lost a few but brought back a heap of older clubmen. Will be strong around the ball and will be there at the pointy end of the season
4 - Roxy - Expecting a big improvement from last season. Having Cappa back is a major coup. Not expecting too much from the older recruits.
5 - MV - Think that they've plateaued the last few years. Hearing a few haven't come back?
6 - Hadfield - It might be a long season for Hadfield although they have brought back some talented footballers.
7 - BH - Unfortunately, whilst the club has improved immensely, I think the comp has also improved. Could be a flip of the coin between Burnside and Hadfield.

Without KP, it looks to be a very even comp this year.
I would go with this East Sunbury and Coburg are GF favorites for me both have improved on already strong sides cant count out NS either

Good thought local. However don’t think this will ever happen as if a thirds side was able to beat a Div2 clubs senior side it would be embrassing for the club and league. Plus also think the league has a requirement for all senior sides to field a reserves side, otherwise the reserves will have a bye..
bugger turbo I forgot about the seconds I spoke to some one who watch a few of their games last year and was impressed with GV thirds game style and players and reckons they would have scared CD and Jacana

You must be joking.
Greenvale’s 2nd side might have got close to Jacana or CD but their thirds would loose by 10+ goals

The EDFL was only bragging a few weeks back about the new Hume side and a few others and now the Devils can't even get one side up.
Sad.
To many clubs in the inner suburbs now. By that I mean the inner suburbs are filled with older people that their families have grown and left. The growth of the comp will be in the outskirts.

ES for mine, have to be short favs and will have the comp medal winner in their side ,

KP nearly folded approx 6 years ago and only survived due to the new coach at the time who brought in players and enthusiasm and played in some finals during this time. Since he departed it’s been held together by a select few off field and more recently the coach as well. It’s been tough for them but ultimately it was heading this way years ago unfortunately. One of the best clubs with regards to honest down to earth blue collar people. Wish them all the best for the future and hope they can rebuild but it will be tough.

Possibly only 1 or 2 past players can drag them back. Have heard some rumours of someone who “might” want to head back home but gee it will take work but his possiblly the only person who can do it..Not going to mention any name though on this forum out of respect for the guy..

The return of Joe Misiti could help turn things around.

KP would do well to talk to the Reservoir football club in the NFL to see how they went about coming back with 2x team's (seniors and seconds )after a year in recess
Good luck to KP

NS ran over Roxy all though Roxy were missing Capuano still does not look good for them always important to get off to a good start

But Roxy reserves won....

Northern Saints look pretty strong and always difficult to beat on that tiny ground. Edfl footy looks pretty strong but they do need to look at some of these grounds and access if they are suitable for senior footy..

I did mention Moonee Valley will be up there. Hearing they have a few aces up there sleeve as well..

EDFL looking pretty strong! Seems to me that it is in a total state of caos given the lack of 19's teams. Some teams getting thrashed. Everyone talking about the lack of leadership and allowing cheats to get a slap on the wrist.

Districts v mooney valley must have been a cracker! anyone have a rundown? Surely districts wouldn’t be happy with the result.

Coburg looked slow might be to tall?....valley also got 2 injuries in the first quarter and they didnt come back on...coburg run out of legs

Biggest surprise for me from the weekend is Roxy's performance against NS. Surely Capuano isn't a 10 goal difference????

Still got some great depth at the club with quite a few senior players from last year playing 2's.

Maybe I'm just underselling a great performance from NS!

Well Roxy better get use to it cause Capuano still got 3 more weeks on sideline for his suspension from last year

Watched Northern on the weeken for 2 and half qtrs. They were polished and well drilled. Big change from last year IMO. Back line was brilliant. They have improved a heap and the blokes that have come back have given them the class they needed, but still quite short across the ground and need a ruckman. the bloke they have battles really well at the ballups and around the ground but he will need a chop out.
decent old crowd at the ground and the kids boystrous as usual but great to see them supporting the senior team. Ive also watched MV in some praccy games, they looked sharp. Any 4 of MV, ES, CD, Rxy can win it, but i reckon it will come down to coaching in the end, and both NS and MV look the goods in that area from what ive seen
