Instead of being livid, what has the EDFL done to support them and other struggling clubs?
Mate I couldn’t agree more but you and I both know they won’t take any blame...
also if a club doesn’t have money how can you promise payments etc. Who knows maybe something unforeseen has happened like a major sponsor pulling out or something....

Think they budgeted to have a few functions that were cancelled due to severe lack of support.. They had a pre-game dinner earlier in the year where under 10 people attended.. I have no doubt the committee is busting it's A to do whatever it can but there is just no support... not sure what else they can do.. It is sad , same thing happening in the WRFL with Albion and Nth Sunshine..
But you know what , everyone just looks after themselves these days,, so they can't expect support from any other club,, we will see more clubs fold than ever in the next few years..

I think you will find the EDFL in conjunction with AFL Vic has done enormous amount of work trying to engage the local junior market. Extremely difficult when 70% of the local population is Polynesian or Iraqian.
The $$$ spend on senior football is something I would be livid about.

As I've said on the Div 1 forum, I think the league and the AFL have massive work ahead of them. Footy in the north is getting killed by soccer. The AFL need to get into schools in the area before we lose a lot more kids to soccer. It's getting out of control. If clubs like ours don't gave enough juniors we can't pay to bring people in and the same could happen. The league and AFL VIC need to pull their finger out

Agree 100%
AFL VIC has a lot to answer for with regard to the deterioration of the game across the state.

Jacana FC was always facing a battle due to the area they have. They can only keep pushing and fighting for so long. Only a few loyal people doing the work out there compared to other clubs. Without a strong junior program you can only keep the place alive for so long. It’s one thing getting sponsors on board but it’s another thing maintaining them and keeping them on board for future years. I do wish them well..

Look at Keilor Park. They only kept the doors open due to the work being done with the junior program as although they don’t have reserves they have 19s and 17s and junior ages.

If players walk out then they don't have the ability to do even that. Maybe they could every couple of weeks but why bother .
The EDFL will not give money to keep them afloat nor will AFL Vic.

Northern by 60 over Jacana. Anything less and Northern should be unsatisfied.

Haddy to beat districts by 8 points. Haddy are coming

Sunbury to win by 165 points over Keilor.

Valley by 70 points over Easts.

Heard that oak Park are digging the claws in trying to take all the players they can, hard to believe that the blokes who once were apart of the same club would want to see it die by trying to take all their players in the roe time of need.
