Got any examples of grounds where the opposing coaches bench is not on “wing” area as you put it ?
Glenroy, East Keilor, Coburg Districts, Taylor’s Lakes (although now on same side as home team) just off the top of my head.

Also away teams have trouble seeing scoreboards, IE Avondale, Hillside, Aberfeldie, Douttas,

Anyway im just making an observation to improve things that’s all.

Will be interesting to see. When EK changed jumpers 7 or 8 years ago they wanted to go Navy with Red and Yellow V but were told in was too similar to Burnside and it would look good. Or a Red with Blue and Yellow V would be same as SA State jumper?

It’s all white with the coloured V’s so def won’t clash with anything else.

EK has both benches on the wing(one wing each) . I don’t know when the last time was you have been to ek mate lol…. Been that way for as long as I can remember

Because of that points thing I mentioned?

No idea there are multiple reasons someone doesn’t make a team, Bongetti obviously didn’t think he was in the best 22 from round 2-4 wether it be match up wise or points or playing youth instead no idea. That’s a question for bongo not myself, I just know he was refusing to play twos so was told to look elsewhere and that EK will release him from contract.

He refused to play two’s so was asked to move on, EK clearly not having none of that attitude.

You guys would have known that would be the case. Not so much about EK not putting up with that attitude more he got squeezed out because of points and left. Why play reserves when you got recruited into the club. Best leave now and play seniors and get paid..
it’s what was mentioned in the herald sun article as well. EK always at max points so he got squeezed out. But who cares anyhow..

Is it on the wing or around the 50 mark. From memory it’s not central wing. Any way I wasn’t potting EK as it’s the way it’s been for ages. Just making a broad statement that’s all.

Who cares how he was recruited or paid ? If you aren’t good enough to get a game bad luck. Good on Bongetti to set high standards and apply pressure on spots. Van Riet was well off the pace round.1 and was a liability in the back line, if he was worth even a smidge of his pay packet he would have rolled his sleeves up and won his spot back. Says a lot more about Rocket than it does about EK

Can confirm that is exactly spot on. Burnside got approval a few weeks prior , so the navy was ruled out . At the time when it went through, we were in Div 2 and with Strathmore in Premier , the chances of playing each other were remote at the time. Even the EDFL thought the same thing and it was therefore approved.

Van Riet was a jet back when I watched him at Seymour in mid 2000's. As others have suggested he is clearly too old for EDFL Premier league in 2022.

It might be an interesting watch on Bongetti himself.

Oh I don’t care either how he was recruited or getting paid but he got dropped due to points and obviously he wasn’t happy. Pretty simple and partly explained that way in the herald sun article. I agree his best is past him so it was an unusual recruiting to get him imo.

On another note the ex Hillside 3 seem to be going really well in premier especially Raynor and Micallef. It’s great to see them step up and do well. How would Hillside be feeling as in 2018 they played finals and built something but it went downhill from there. Just saying.

Coletta has been huge in 2 games I’ve watched

When I think about EK how good was the recruitment of Heath Shaw. Was that a pivotal move in the rise of EK? As his still at a good age, and always been competitive and passionate. Plus he appears to play most weeks. Got to be one of the best recruiting moves seen in years!!

Turbo please man, why do you talk like you know anything about EK you are probably the most misinformed person here to comment on EK, you just told me our benches are not on the wing ffs. Rocket was not recruited, he came to EK willingly on his own accord because he wanted to play with Stewart for his final couple of years.

Was told ek were tight on points and may need to play reserves and that youth will be prioritised. He understood and accepted however obviously when push came to shove he didn’t want to play reserves, obviously thought he would prove himself early and cement his spot when he came, which he didn’t after round 1. Therefor was told to move on.

Take that as gospel. I have been told by someone very informed on the matter.

Alot of people didn’t think they would perform well in premier, I remember on the Div 1 thread, even you had doubts turbo. Just shows when you surround good players with more players of their calibre and great leadership (they don’t feel like they have to do it all week in and week out and can rely on other players to help carry the load) they play even better. They are well and truly equipped for premier.

Great recruitment move by Pat, He will win every 1 on 1 but his back line structures and guidance is next level. That’s where he excels, he may not get BOG every game but what he offers with guidance, morale and structures etc is irreplaceable.
