Of course it could of been any prem club. Point is if he stayed at hillside he would still be playing Div 1 and not have this opportunity. If any player has a chance to play prem they should take it if they want to better their game.

I mean when he moved it was from a Div 1 club to a Div 1 club? And played for a Premier Club by default. The kid’s always been a star and I’m sure would have excelled regardless. Good luck to the kid deserves a crack it and sometimes all you need is an opportunity.

His not really “your” player as he is known as a hillside player through the hillside football factory, as BT would say 🤣🤣

Will agree stepping up to Premier standard and doing well has been great for him but it could have been any premier club.
True that. Maybe Raynor just lucky Hillside a hopeless club that he left and in turn got opportunities.

He was surrounded by prem quality players is what I should of said, learning from someone like Stewart directly in the ruck. Getting guided by Heath Shaw in the back line took his game to a different level and he deserves it!

Point is nothing to do with EK as such but more so you surround yourself with better players then you become better. He wouldn’t of got that staying at a club like hillside.

I guarantee he will the say the same if you ask, extremely humble kid.

Proud of Lockie, hopefully training with the first team at brisbane helps him have a massive crack!!

Not sure they train with the main group. They normally train separately to the main group. It’s no different to him playing at Essendon.
The only reason he is on Brisbane's vfl list is to keep his brother in Brisbane.
Instate AFL clubs do it all the time. The bring over family and friends over to try keep their start recruit happy.

There is no negative spin on this story. Young bloke is trying to better himself as a footballer and having his crack, good for him and a credit to Hillside and EK who have contributed

Hate to repeat myself. There are spare weeks.

There are exactly 27 weekends between 1 April and 30th September (remove 1 for kings Birthday weekend) leaves 26, remove Easter weekend and that leaves 25 available weekends.
A 22 game season would leave 3 weeks for finals if remains as top 4 (ideally needs to move to a top 5) making it impossible for a top 5 finals series in 3 weeks.
Also doesn’t allow for ground availability - windy hill can’t be played ok after 20th or thereabouts of September.

Would hate to use fact and research in a reply !

He’s training with the first team. That’s part of the deal.

Why would turbo be mentioning Hillside or even East Keilor, only 1 person deserves the credit and that’s Lockie Rayner. It’s obvious he was surrounded with a better playing group at EK but still it’s the young man that deserves all accolades.
Hillside football factory lol what a joke.
I watched Lockie play at least 10 times over 2 years and he is a young gun.
Turbo you have no idea, it seems you just like knocking EK full stop.

Add in AFL Grand Final weekend. Another week out.

Also some councils in Melbourne will try and get clubs off grounds earlier to set them up for cricket. With Round 1 matches scheduled for October 1 this year, they would have needed at least two weeks to uncover synthetic wickets and set the ground up for cricket, even longer if they have turf wickets.

We all know who you are so I can’t be bothered with replying tbh. You had a go at the poster who said Rayner to Brisbane. Yet he was correct.
Not sure a knocked EK on this occasion (unless you can find that comment) yet you seem to have a thing against Hillside and continue to go after there Football factory! 😜All good I won’t mention!

Lachie going to EK and then premier has definitely got him where his is. Wouldn’t have happened if he was playing div1 at hillside this season.

If you can’t acknowledge that Hillside have great junior team in under 19s over recent years then you have issues with hillside. You even recruited a few of them to assist your club in going to premier. There factory ( although it was a tongue in cheek comment) is up there with Keilor & Abers in my opinion. Ultimately the seniors should be in premier by now but that’s another story!!

Good luck with your new appointment at your club and season 2023. But go Pacco 🤣

VAFA had 11 teams in C Grade this year. They played on all the weekends when A and B didn't play. They played the GF on the Friday public holiday before AFL GF

But Div 1 is about to have 12 teams!!!
Not sure how it will all fit in a fair and equitable fixture

I’m either stupid, oblivious or both because it ain’t obvious to me… I have no idea who this guy is. Idk how your confident.

But anyway who cares, turbo if u think Hillside junior program is as good as Abbers and Keilor….. LOL cmon man…

Since you know who I am feel free to call me out.

I don’t even know you so happy guessing.

And the VAFA have admitted it was a disaster and have confirmed they will never allow it to happen again.

That is why the Eastern league played 18 rounds when they had to have 12 team grades to accommodate the likes of Berwick and Beaconsfield entering the competition.

Ground access in late September is a problem in many areas and, in addition, the EDFL would also not like a scenario where the Premier Grand Final is not the last match played for the season.

If a player wants to improve yes they should be trying to play at the highest standard they can. I’m sure with his brother playing for the AFL side he could of arranged for a trial. Was he playing for EK when he was selected for Essendon VFL, or did he try out for them between seasons?

Is it under 19s in metro footy turbs? What's the thoughts behind that, to keep kids playing footy longer that arent developed physically enough for senior footy
EDFL run under 18.5 not under 19s like other competitions.

The thirds competition in EDFL is senior football which in 2022 12 clubs had a team and Keilor Park had 2 teams.

Its almost like an overflow for clubs with more players than the seniors / reserves can accommodate.
