Looks like EK we have points problems again during the year . Interesting to just keep bulk recruiting instead of working on the list they have and just top up with 2-3 of what they need

Significant loss to lose Bongetti, Rayner, Michallef, Grabowski. Not only are they very good players 3 of them would’ve been 1 pointers, the 4th a 2 pointer.

Basically means they will be forced to play even more 1,2 pointers who aren’t up to standard.

Hence they are recruiting a bunch low profile players. Few of the names haven’t been able to cement Div 1 senior spots let alone play premier seniors. Will be interesting watch them lads next season.

You were going so well until ran with “after the 20th or thereabouts”.
Did you lose internet connection?
Your research took away the free weekends I had in mind.
Why can’t we play more games over Easter?
Why can’t we play more games over the long weekend?
Should we just sit back and do what we’ve done for the last x years.
Our league are the world champs at having no vision.

It's hardly a case of no vision, other leagues have looked at playing more games, it doesn't work as he pointed out.

It's local footy on shared grounds, it's the reality. There's 27 weekends available - some years there are 26 or even 25, depends how the days fall.

You'd want to allow 2 byes - all leagues have that with easter and QB. At the very least you're talking 1 bye. If you were going to a 22 week season then one weekend off is probably not workable. Even the AFL has two (they just do one before the finals) and they're professional athletes.

3 weeks of finals absolute minimum, most leagues prefer a Top 5 these days, so 4 weeks.

Who's gonna tell the coaches we're having zero practice matches? Most want two, many also then prefer a week off before Round 1.

It just doesn't work because of cricket.

That's before you get into cost. 4 more games = 22% more = 22% higher costs. Yes you get two more home games to make money but what about your other revenue? Are sponsors gonna pay 22% more? Will your functions make 22% more? Or are the players, coaches, trainers, suppliers etc gonna do 4 more games for free...

Why do I feel like I’ve read all that before? Thanks.
