Not sure on Pacco extent of injuries but GV side had 7 regular reserves players replacing likes of Maric, deluca, parthenopoulos, burns, farchione, khoury, Dempsey off top of my head, and their reserves topped up with 6 u19 players. Maybe some clubs should start investigating these fringe players as they are prob getting bored playing every week flogging teams by large margins, but only getting a gig in seniors due to injuries, unavailabilities.Bang that’s nonsense. He was out injured and was at the game supporting the team in his club colours..
Few injuries sustained before 1/2 time was telling but Greenvale deserved the win as were the better side. They worked harder and were a bit cleaner overall..Pacco have a number of injuries however so do most clubs I guess.
Pacco probably won’t make it however if they beat Marby well they might still be an outside chance..
Saw one of the most disgraceful acts I’ve ever seen in local footy during the Strathmore vs Marby reserves game yesterday. Number 15 for strathmore head butting an 18 year old kid during a break in play in the last quarter, knocking him out and sending him to hospital.
Absolute germ act. He also spent the previous three qtrs throwing punches at Marbys youngsters. Hopefully Strthamore as a club act swiftly and kick this bloke out of the club.
Am hearing the police may get involved, which is fair enough considering what happened.
Pacco imploding. Vespremi walked out Thursday, what happened there Turbo?
Stax, can you fill us in on what strathmores position is in regards to Number 15 assaulting the young kid from Marby during the reserves game yesterday ?
I agree with you that Greenvale could be raided by promoted club for next season. Not sure on Pacco extent of injuries but GV side had 7 regular reserves players replacing likes of Maric, deluca, parthenopoulos, burns, farchione, khoury, Dempsey off top of my head, and their reserves topped up with 6 u19 players. Has the Strathmore player played in the seniors this year.
If it was Keilor they would probably promote him to captain.
Strathmore do have a favourable run home as do paco if they can get a win over Marby this week they are still an outside chance to sneak inDisgraceful act. Something I hope he is very embarrassed about but more likely than not he was probably bragging to his mates post match about. Absolute coward who as mentioned earlier was throwing them like they were going out of fashion.
I hope for the sake of the poor kid he got sent to hospital he takes it a little further or if not at a bare minimum the dickhead gets suspended for multiple weeks.
Outside of that it looks like the standard of 2s footy has lifted (admittedly I only got there for about last quarter and a bit). A lot of skillful ball users, seems the days of training once a week and a drinking session on the Friday night have passed. Some seriously good players that would go well in lower levels.
Great win by Strathmore in the seniors. Outside of a 15 minute period in the 3rd where Marby banged on 4-5 goals with a slight breeze I thought they dominated the day. Marby just seem to have no answers.. although it did seem they were short on the bench for majority of the day.
Strathmore now a genuine top 2 chance. Abers the only team of note in the run home for them.
Serial offender
Already told the forum the truth. Low blow comment Planks.
Don't think you will see Maric at KeilorThey certainly are a very slick outfit. It’s a bit scary to think they still have Browne, Maric and some others to come into their team. Deserve to be hot favourites.
Bit of a relief for opposition teams, particularly if Browne comes back soon. I had wondered if Maric’s clearance was just one of those temporary ones to enable him to play one of those one off games, then come back to Keilor. I notice he did one of those earlier in the season when he got cleared to play with Churchill in the North Gippsland League.Don't think you will see Maric at Keilor

Come on Sick, I am sure a lot of clubs would like to have him in their lineup.

Pretty handy given he was a 1 pointer at Keilor also.
Wasn’t trying to bore you Sick. I mentioned Maric’s prior short term clearances in the context of whether they are treated differently to the norm, and if he could in fact return to Keilor this season. Seems not.Yeh I agree with that , it’s his journeyman story that doesn’t interest me

Can’t introduce a new finals system with half the season already over surely!I hear with interest that the EDFL are looking at a top 5 finals system this year for premier division. Would that be because Abers are coming 5th atm.

You wouldn't think so but....

10 Jul. 2018 · The Essendon District Football League has not ruled out implementing a top-five finals system in the hotly-contested Premier Division.
Abers pulling the strings of their puppet (EDFL) again.

More like EDFL making more $ extra week of finals = a lot $
They might have ground issues though

That’s ******! Surely the clubs have some input if it’s to be instigated this season
100% accurate - Final 5 has been on the EDFL agenda for at least 5 years - only just recent ie last 2 years were the clubs canvassed again - my understanding is the clubs want it yet the EDFL Board in their wisdom feel time is not right.
