Headcount called in the 3rd quarter of Keilor vs west coburg due to west coburg replacing a player who was sent off and they were ruled to have have to many on the field! Confusion at the ground as to whether the scoreboard should have been wiped or not, does anyone know what that actual rule is?

I think the rule was changed and the umpires take down all details and the league then reviews it as to do they wipe the whole score or just the scores in that quarter. I guess with the Craigieburn game they just decided to wipe it as they knew they would still win but that's the old way. I do stand to be corrected on this though..

Yeah I'm hearing exactly that! As of now it's a 7 point win to Keilor but It will be reviewed during the week as to what penalty if any they receive!

I notice Abers selected team list on website has e few important omissions - Reymers, Kefford & Allen. All 3 played significant part first time round. Their depth is fantastic but those outs might bring EDS a bit closer elbeit EDS side this time round weaker. Playing surface might be OK as rain full not as heavy this week as predicted. Looking forward to entertaining free scoring game at Clifton Park.

Kefford played and kicked 4

EDS really hard fought win. Gutsy. Abers had a 2 goal breeze in the final term and EDS held them off and scored 4 goals to 1. Fantastic effort from a super young group. The high point/ high paid players were sensational. Veszpremi Allan shylo Hughes (super performance) pfieffer just brilliant.

McLean and Blackwell along with lynch I thought were very good

I see Ryan Allan didn't play by the looks of it. His a huge out for Abers as he usually takes care of players like Hughes. But a good win all the same by all accounts.

Was impressed with west coburg today great attitude, attack on the footy, move the ball well out of there backline and have some extremely fast forwards. Pretty physical side and for the most part fair with the exception of the bloke sent off for punching a Keilor player, It was a very costly moment in the game which lead to a head count and possible score deduction during the week as well as Keilor kicking probably 3-4 goals during the period west coburg were a man down so was very silly and costly action! I didn't actually see the incident but didn't seem to affect the Keilor player to much as he didn't require treatment or to come off the ground and I'm hearing the west coburg player declined the 2 week offer on game day and is fighting the charge
They should be pretty proud with how they are going on field atm
However the same can't be said for them off field, the behaviour of a large section of the supporters drinking in the pocket was disgraceful. Chants of Browne is a ****** and galea is a ******* is one thing but to threaten players and staff during the game and to come over to the 3 quarter time huddle and heckle the players and supporters is just looking for trouble. Once the game was over to then throw ice at browne is pathetic and does nothing to change the feral thug stigma that's stuck with west coburg for a long time
The players and coaching staff are doing a great job for there club it's about time there supporters started to as well

Localblues I went to this game too as a neutral observer. It was my first look at edfl footy.
I thought the young field umpires did a great job controlling the game. There was an instance where one of the young boundary umpires tripped over in the mud and one of the group of spectators heckled him in very poor taste. The sooner people realise that without umpires there will be no games!!!!

Doesn't sound good Localblues. Hopefully the West Coburg commitee stepped in and spoke to them. That ground at Shore Reserve doesn't have a fence, no opposition coaching interchange bench, well they do but it's in the pocket and no one uses it. So it's easy for spectators to get close to the players.

I watched the first half of Pacco v APW and at half time as the players were coming of the ground an APW supporter stood between the fence and change rooms and said something to the Pacco players. He was an older type and seemed harmless enough, and although it was nothing to seroius it could have sparked something.

Shylo's game was one of the best captains/leaders game I have seen. Pfeifer and Veszpremi standouts. If EDS can play that brand of football consistently for the remaining season they are a chance to play finals

Scoreboard stay as it is the league deals with this during the week, not a things for the umpires on the day to do, they take note of the score and time of game and headcount numbers

Keilor have had and continue to have some of the biggest mouth supporters in the EDFL, just ask the Abers players/supporters what they think of you're mob, but do they get on here and have a cry? Having good results on the field has brought a lot more of the scum out again this year, so before you go throwing stones at WC , clean up your own backyard....................

Local Blue, maybe the chance were a little out of turn, however it is only minute to what WC has received over the years. Names such as Wog, Dago, Gorilla, camel rider, kebab eaters I feel are a lot worse than calling some a w@nker. As to the ¾ time huddle, I kept a close eye on this as it could have erupted. From my vantage point, nothing was said by the WC supporters, there were plenty of laughs, mainly for the gentlemen from KFC yelling and provide unusual gestures more suited to a primary school playground. If anything, I think the boys conducted themselves well and had a good chat with a few of the supporters.
Great game in the end which was damped by the head count. Unfortunately for the player sent off, only been in the country a few weeks chasing an AFL dream, coming all the way from Denmark.

Couldn't care less what the precious little rich boys club from abers think about the Keilor supporters as you would find the exact same answer from the Keilor supporters/players if asked the same question about abers supporters! You completely missed the point of my post which was gobbing off is one thing as all clubs in the EDFL have fans who gob off during the game! coming over to the huddle and heckling is just asking for trouble it was just unnecessary in my opinion. Yes when they got the reaction they were looking for which was being told where to go they laughed it off but it only takes one or 2 hot heads for a situation like that to get out of control very quickly. The main issue was with the section of fans who were throwing ice at browny after the game as he celebrated in there direction and the fans who threatened staff during the game...

Using your own logic, surely celebrating in the direction of opposition supporters is also asking for trouble?
Giving Abers a clip while complaining about WC is also slightly unusual.

as I said above the main issue was with the ice throwing and the threats!!! some of the language was a bit over the top but I'm sure most clubs have been guilty of that at some stage or another, not that it makes it right though. It was a terrific game of footy and west coburg probably could consider themselves unlucky not to get the points as the headcount and send off did chang the momentum of the game! be interesting to see what comes of the investigation as i think it would be a bit harsh to wipe there score up to that point as it was only about 1 minute after the send off before the headcount was called.

The abers comment was a direct reply to your Keilor clip so wasn't really unusual at all. A player giving a couple of fist pumps on the final siren sounded in the direction of a section of crowd that had given it to him all day is very different to the 3 quarter time heckling, if throwing ice is an acceptable reaction to that we all might as well load the Eskys up and go for it every week as I'm sure players giving a bit back to the crowd happens most weeks

You're getting people mixed up, I haven't said anything about Keilor, as I know that it's smarter to not make sweeping statements about clubs based on the actions of a minority.
I just replied to you complaining about WC people and then clipping Abers who have no relevance to anything that occurred at Shore reserve.

I can't believe Abers lost - you know with the Super coach Potter at the Helm and all. Must've been the players fault, or out's or something , couldn't have been because Potter got out-coached by a man with an inferior list?

Definitely out coached plus 22 players who all had a crack and played team footy

I'd say the coaches had little to do with the result , the fact that Abers were missing a 5 goals a game key forward plus a key defender would be the obvious reasons

Really mate would they? What happened in round 2 ?
Abers won by 23 points EDS didn't have Hughes no one was blaming that as an excuse. As you have now seen Hughes is a major component to the EDS forward line.
So on your logic. Hughes plays EDS win round 2 then if in round 12 abers win if reimers and Allan plays??

must have been satisfying for an ex abers boy Prestia to kick the sealer near the abers hill? potter told him he wasn't good enough? He beat toy on the day and sealed the win!!!

For a start Hughes doesn't kick five a week .... so he can't be compared to Reimers ...... Looking at EDS last two wins they've been helped considerably by opponents missing key players...... I see they were on 50 points player wise last week , not much room to move there
